The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar is proud to announce Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo as headliners for Saturday, 21 September. These dynamic artists will take over the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit stage, ensuring an unforgettable experience for festival-goers.

This announcement comes with a heartfelt update: Janet Jackson will no longer headline the event due to pressing family commitments following the recent passing of her brother, Tito Jackson. Janet’s management shared the news with deep regret, expressing that her focus is now with her family during this difficult time. The festival organisers and fans send their sincerest condolences to the Jackson family.

In response to the lineup changes, Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo have stepped up as the festival’s Saturday night headliners. Known for his high-energy performances and rapid-fire lyrical delivery, Busta Rhymes has long been a hip-hop icon, with numerous Grammy nominations and Platinum albums under his belt. His unforgettable hits like “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check” and collaborations with the likes of Mariah Carey and Missy Elliott have kept him at the forefront of music for decades.

Jason Derulo, the international pop sensation, promises to bring his chart-topping hits and showstopping dance moves to the festival stage. With hits like “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle,” and “Savage Love,” Derulo has sold over 200 million records worldwide and captivated audiences with his smooth vocals and dynamic performances. His massive success on TikTok has also turned him into a global digital sensation, amplifying his impact far beyond the music world.

On the same day, South African powerhouse Thandiswa Mazwai will perform, while Grammy-winning superstar Jill Scott will headline Sunday, 22 September. Local favourites Sjava and the Soweto Gospel Choir will also join the lineup on Sunday, ensuring a weekend packed with diverse musical talent.

The festival continues its tradition of celebrating South Africa‘s rich cultural heritage with the 30 Years of Creative Freedom Tribute Show, presented by the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture. On Saturday, hip-hop and kwaito legends like Boom Shaka, Khuli Chana, and Cassper Nyovest will honour the late icons AKA, HHP, Lebo Mathosa, and others. Sunday will spotlight South Africa‘s musical giants, with performances by Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, paying tribute to Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, and Johnny Clegg.

Beyond music, the Channel O Dance Stage, sponsored by Johnnie Walker Blonde, will keep festival-goers dancing all weekend with top DJs like DBN Gogo, Kabza De Small, and Shimza. The culinary side of the festival will offer a “Proudly South African Delicious Mile,” featuring gourmet dishes from popular local and international food vendors.

Tickets start at R1,050 for general admission, with premium lounge options available. Festival organisers have ensured that despite the changes, the event will be a memorable celebration of music, food, and culture.
