At Urban Lifestyle, we are dedicated to championing the sounds of South African urban culture. We are opening doors for independent artists to access professional Music Distribution and PR/Media Campaign services.

Whether you are pushing the soulful keys of Amapiano or the hard-hitting bars of Hip Hop, we help your music reach the right ears.

Who We Are Looking For

We are currently accepting submissions for the following genres:

  • Dance & Electronic: Deep House, Afro House, Afro Tech, 3-Step, and Soulful House.
  • Amapiano: From soulful private school vibes to heavy log-drum street anthems.
  • Hip Hop: Rap, Trap, and Alternative Hip Hop.

Submission Requirements

To ensure your music is considered, please provide the following in your submission:

A. The Music (High Quality Only)

  • Format: WAV file for distribution; High-quality MP3 (320kbps) for review.

B. The Brand (EPK)

  • Professional Bio: 150–300 words about the artist/group.
  • High-Res Press Images: Landscape and Portrait (Min. 1200px wide).
  • Social Media: Links to Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, and TikTok.

Our Services

  • Digital Distribution: Get your music on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, and TikTok. We handle the technical delivery and royalty collection.
  • PR & Media Coverage: Feature on the Urban Lifestyle platform, press release distribution to our network of media partners, and social media promotion.
  • Playlist Pitching: Direct pitching to editorial and independent curators in the House, Amapiano, and Hip Hop spaces.

Submission Terms & Conditions

  • Originality: All music must be original or properly licensed (no uncleared samples).
  • Response Time: Due to the high volume of submissions, we aim to respond within 5–10 working days. If you don’t hear from us within 14 days, please consider your submission unsuccessful this time.
  • Curation: Urban Lifestyle reserves the right to select music that aligns with our brand quality and editorial vision.

Pro-Tips for Artists:

  1. Timing is Everything: Submit your music at least 3–4 weeks before your desired release date to allow for proper PR planning.
  2. Radio Edits: If your track is longer than 6 minutes (common in Afro Tech), please include a “Radio Edit” (under 4 minutes) for better media pickup.
