There is a particular kind of exhaustion that hits just before dinner. You have survived the commute, answered the emails, navigated traffic and handled everything the day threw at you. Now, someone asks the question that somehow feels like one task too many: What’s for dinner?
For many South African households, the evening meal is not just about food. It is another logistical challenge involving different schedules, hungry children, competing cravings and the very real shortage of energy left at the end of a long day.
Col’Cacchio GO is tapping into this everyday reality, offering a more flexible way to bring pizza, pasta and salads to the table without requiring a full restaurant outing or a last-minute cooking session.
When Dinner Becomes Another Daily Task
Modern urban life rarely follows a neat schedule. One person might still be stuck on the N1, another could be finishing a late shift, while the kids are moving between homework and afternoon activities.

The original plan to cook can quickly fall apart. Suddenly, deciding what to eat becomes a group discussion that nobody has the energy to lead.
This is where convenience becomes more than a buzzword. It is about making everyday life a little easier without sacrificing the pleasure of a decent meal.
Col’Cacchio GO brings pizzas, pastas and salads together in one offering, giving households different options depending on their appetites and the kind of evening they are having. Whether everyone wants to share a meal or prefers to order something individually, the format is designed to accommodate different needs.
And in a world where getting everyone to agree on dinner can feel like a small miracle, having choices under one roof certainly helps.
Convenience That Works Around Real Life
For Col’Cacchio Group CEO Etienne Pieterse, the shift is about understanding how households have changed.
“Families are not necessarily sitting down at the same time, wanting the same thing or planning dinner hours in advance anymore,” .
says Pieterse
That observation reflects a wider reality for working South Africans. Between long commutes, demanding jobs and family responsibilities, people increasingly need food options that work around their lives rather than forcing them to reorganise everything around a meal.

Col’Cacchio GO offers takeaway, collection and delivery, giving customers different ways to get dinner sorted.
Already driving past a collection point on the way home? Collection could fit into the journey. Still working, helping with homework or preparing for tomorrow? Delivery could take one more responsibility off the list.
“Convenience is not only about speed. Sometimes it is about removing friction.”
As Pieterse explains,
It is a simple idea, but one that speaks directly to the pressures of everyday urban living.
A New Chapter for a South African Favourite
Founded in Cape Town in 1992, Col’Cacchio has built its identity around pizza and Italian-inspired dining. Its GO concept extends that offering into a format designed for customers who want the brand’s menu without necessarily sitting down at a restaurant.
The first Col’Cacchio GO opened in Westlake, Cape Town, in April 2025. The group’s directory currently lists nine GO locations across South Africa and Mauritius.
South African outlets include Westlake and the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town; Mackeurtan Avenue and Hillcrest in KwaZulu-Natal; Benmore Gardens, Waterfall and Three Rivers in Gauteng; and Oliver Road in Kimberley.
Customers can find location details, operating hours and ordering information through the Col’Cacchio GO directory.

Sometimes, Making Life Easier Is Enough
Not every evening needs a takeaway solution. There is still something special about cooking at home, experimenting with a new recipe or enjoying a meal at a favourite restaurant.
But there are also nights when the schedule is packed, the fridge offers little inspiration and everyone is running on empty.
For those moments, convenience is not about being lazy or giving up on quality. It is about recognising that time and energy are valuable, too.
Col’Cacchio GO is positioning itself around that everyday need: helping people find a practical answer to the dinner question when life refuses to slow down.
Because sometimes, the best thing about dinner is not having to spend the entire evening figuring it out.
