Dating #NoFilter SA Turns Up the Heat for Season 3

South African dating is complicated enough without a room full of comedians watching your every move.

That is exactly the chaos Dating #NoFilter South Africa is bringing back when Season Three premieres on Bravo Africa on Sunday, 18 October at 19:00, with the new season promising bigger laughs, awkward encounters and the kind of dating moments that are impossible to look away from.

After two seasons that established the local adaptation as a fixture in South African unscripted entertainment, the format is returning with 20 commentators, once again led by comedian, actor and television personality Jason Goliath.

A New Season, A Familiar Mzansi Energy

The appeal of Dating #NoFilter is simple: singles go on blind dates while comedians and entertainers provide real-time commentary on everything unfolding in front of them.

But Season Three is not simply recycling the formula.

The new cast brings together personalities from comedy, music, television, acting and digital content, creating a commentary bench that reflects the increasingly blurred lines between traditional entertainment and South Africa‘s creator economy.

Among those joining Goliath are Carpo More, Celeste Ntuli, Dee Koala, Jesse Suntele, Jo-Anne Reyneke, Khanyi Mbau, Kim Jayde, Noluthando Shabalala, Rouge, Toolz and several other familiar faces.

That mix should make for plenty of different perspectives when the dates inevitably start going sideways.

From Joburg to Durban and Cape Town

Production is currently underway across Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, putting South African locations and personalities at the centre of the dating experiment.

Expect everything from painfully awkward icebreakers to unexpected chemistry, questionable flirting and those moments where viewers at home will probably be shouting advice at the screen.

The show’s premise also taps into something very familiar about modern dating: the gap between how people imagine a date will go and what actually happens when two strangers sit across from each other.

Season Three promises to lean into that unpredictability.

Dating, But Make It a Cultural Conversation

There is also an interesting local layer behind the laughs.

Jo-Anne Reyneke

South Africa‘s dating culture is increasingly shaped by social media, creator culture and changing ideas around relationships and identity. A show built around people being observed, judged and discussed therefore feels particularly at home in the current entertainment landscape.

This season also sees Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles return as headline sponsor, with its vehicles incorporated into the dating journeys. The cars become part of the experience, including the candid conversations and first reactions captured during journeys to and from dates.

The season will also feature Tata’s new 1.2l Turbo Osprey SUV, while Stretton’s Gin and Telkom join as associate partners.

The Episode Synopsis: Expect Chemistry and Chaos

Across the season, singles will take on blind dates while the commentator panel reacts in real time to the flirting, fails, awkward silences and unexpected sparks.

From dates that surprisingly click to encounters that spectacularly crash, the format puts modern South African dating under a very funny microscope.

Dating #NoFilter South Africa Season Three premieres on Bravo Africa (DStv 124) at 19:00 on Sunday, 18 October, running through to the season finale on 20 December.

For viewers, the question is not whether the dates will get awkward.

It is how awkward they are going to get.
