Johnnie Walker Celebrates Culture and Connection at Durban July 2026
Johnnie Walker once again showcased its commitment to culture, music and meaningful connections during the 2026 Hollywoodbets Durban July, delivering a weekend filled with unforgettable experiences inspired by its iconic Keep Walking philosophy.
Recognised as one of South Africa‘s premier lifestyle events, the Hollywoodbets Durban July brings together horse racing, fashion, entertainment and culture under one roof. This year’s Country Allure theme provided the perfect backdrop for Johnnie Walker to create immersive experiences that celebrated every aspect of the occasion.

One of the standout attractions was Boomtown, presented by Johnnie Walker, which transformed into the entertainment hub of the weekend after the races. Thousands of guests enjoyed performances from some of South Africa‘s biggest stars, including TKZee, Sphectacula & DJ Naves, DJ Tira, Sjava, Blxckie, Karyendasoul and Ciza. DJs SJ, Kristen Singh, J SBU, Deon G and Fantas The DJ kept the celebrations alive throughout the day, making Boomtown one of Durban July’s most talked-about destinations.
Speaking about the brand’s presence at the event, Ifeoma Agu, Group Head of Culture, Influencers & Advocacy at Diageo South, West & Central Africa, said Johnnie Walker believes progress is built through moments that bring people together.

She explained that Durban July represents the perfect meeting point of music, fashion and culture, allowing the brand to create experiences that inspire meaningful conversations and memorable celebrations. Agu added that Johnnie Walker remains committed to supporting South African culture through its continued investment in music, fashion and premium lifestyle experiences while encouraging people to “Keep Walking.”
Throughout the weekend, guests enjoyed Johnnie Walker‘s signature cocktails, with the refreshing Johnnie Ginger and the balanced Walker Sour becoming favourites among attendees celebrating in style.

Beyond the racecourse, the whisky brand also hosted an exclusive premium hospitality experience at Dukkah, where invited guests enjoyed exceptional dining, world-class hospitality and carefully curated moments ahead of race day.
The celebrations continued across Durban through a partnership with Butcher Boys Umhlanga, bringing the spirit of Durban July to one of the city’s favourite dining destinations. Festivities concluded at Rockets Wonderland, where music, culture and premium hospitality ensured the celebrations carried on long after the final race.

By creating memorable experiences across entertainment, dining and hospitality, Johnnie Walker once again demonstrated its dedication to celebrating modern South African culture. The brand’s presence throughout the Durban July weekend reflected its ongoing mission to bring people together and inspire progress through unforgettable shared moments.
