Maverick Seizure Launches ZeZe Global to Empower the Next Generation of Creators

After three years of operating in stealth mode, South African creative entrepreneur Michael Kgotso Aphane, professionally known as Maverick Seizure, has officially unveiled ZeZe Global – a new creative technology and production company designed to help creators build sustainable careers while retaining ownership of their work.

Built for photographers, videographers, designers, musicians, creative directors, digital storytellers, and professionals across the creative ecosystem, ZeZe Global aims to provide the tools, networks, and infrastructure that many creators have long lacked.

“They built the industry on our backs. We’re building the next one on our terms.”

From Soweto to the Global Stage

Aphane’s journey began in Soweto in 2017 with a camera and an ambition to understand how culture travels and influences the world. Photography became his gateway into music, fashion, nightlife, and international creative communities.

Over the years, Maverick Seizure documented defining moments in African music and youth culture. He photographed cultural icons including Moozlie, Yanga Chief, and the late AKA, capturing an important chapter in South African hip-hop.

His growing network led him beyond South Africa‘s borders. Through connections with rapper Bas and the wider Dreamville community, Aphane gained access to major international creative spaces, including Dreamfest in North Carolina, as well as backstage environments associated with artists such as Drake and 21 Savage.

He also collaborated with Mixmag on documentary projects exploring global club culture and contributed visual work to Desiree’s reinterpretation of Nina Simone’s Four Women.

The Problem Behind the Culture

While moving through these influential spaces, Aphane noticed a recurring challenge. Creatives were driving culture and shaping industries, yet they rarely owned the systems that generated value from their work.

Many creators continue to face inconsistent income, limited access to opportunities, inadequate infrastructure, and little control over the value they create. The more visible creators become, the more these structural challenges emerge.

This realisation became the foundation for ZeZe Global.

Building a Creative Infrastructure

In 2023, Aphane shifted his focus from documenting culture to building systems that support the people behind it.

For the past three years, he has quietly developed ZeZe Global as a platform designed to help creators:

  • Manage their creative work more efficiently
  • Build trusted digital identities
  • Connect with opportunities and collaborators
  • Distribute content globally
  • Eventually access financial tools built specifically for the creative industry

Rather than simply serving as another content platform, ZeZe Global focuses on the infrastructure surrounding creativity—visibility, ownership, collaboration, trust, and long-term sustainability.

“Creativity, paired with the right systems, can transform not only industries, but entire realities. From the grassroots of Soweto to world stages, we’ve seen what African creativity can do. Now it’s time for creators to have systems that truly support them.”

Supporting Africa’s Creative Momentum

The launch of ZeZe Global comes at a significant moment for the continent’s creative industries. African music, fashion, art, and storytelling continue to influence global culture at an unprecedented pace.

ZeZe Global‘s mission is to ensure that creators not only contribute to this cultural momentum but also benefit from it through better technology, greater access, and stronger ownership structures.

The company has officially opened its waitlist, giving early supporters access to platform updates, product releases, and future opportunities within the growing ZeZe Global ecosystem.

As African creativity continues to command global attention, Maverick Seizure‘s latest venture represents more than just a new company launch—it is an ambitious effort to build the infrastructure that enables creators to thrive on their own terms.

Creators and early adopters can now join the ZeZe Global waitlist and become part of a platform aiming to redefine how creative talent is supported, connected, and empowered worldwide.
