Homecoming October ’26: Love, Lies and Dangerous Secrets

October is about to become a particularly messy month in Homecoming, with the Mzansi Wethu drama moving from relationship complications and family tensions into grief, corruption, violence and murder.

Across Episodes 75 to 96, characters who have spent months trying to control their circumstances increasingly find themselves trapped by the consequences of their own decisions. For viewers, the intrigue isn’t simply about who will get what they want — it’s about how quickly a lie can become impossible to contain.

Homecoming airs Mondays to Fridays at 18:30 on Mzansi Wethu Channel 163.

MaNkwanyane Refuses to Let Go

The month opens with MaNkwanyane’s accusations weighing heavily on the Dlamini family, while Shobane attempts to use Busi to manipulate Khathazile.

But MaNkwanyane’s storyline quickly becomes one of October’s major pressure points.

After being publicly exposed over a lie, she faces another shock that threatens her relationship with Msizi. Rather than stepping away, however, she doubles down on her so-called “miracle”, leaving those around her increasingly sceptical.

By Episode 79, Msizi chooses Zethu — but MaNkwanyane refuses to accept the decision. Her ultimatum pushes their relationship towards a potentially life-changing confrontation.

The stakes only rise from there, eventually leading to her arrest and a dramatic shift in the Kubheka family.

Love, Loss and Complicated Choices

While MaNkwanyane fights to hold onto Msizi, Zethu begins reclaiming her own sense of direction.

That emotional triangle takes another turn when devastating news hits Msizi and MaNkwanyane. Episode 88 asks whether shared grief can bring two people closer, while Episode 89 finds Msizi struggling to process his loss.

Unexpectedly, Zethu becomes part of his support system.

It’s a reminder that Homecoming’s relationships rarely fit neatly into romantic boxes. Love, loyalty, guilt and grief keep overlapping, forcing characters to reconsider who they trust when life becomes difficult.

The Police Station Is Cracking

Away from the relationship drama, Constable Dlamini’s growing frustration with her working environment develops into another major October storyline.

Her attempts to be recognised are complicated by Ngarage’s rise, eventually pushing her towards confrontation.

At the same time, Ngarage’s promotion creates tension in his relationship with MaNgcobo, while the Captain faces increasing pressure from auditors who threaten to uncover weaknesses within the station.

By the latter part of the month, professional ambition, family expectations and financial pressure are colliding — and nobody seems to be walking away untouched.

From Secrets to Murder

The final stretch of October takes Homecoming into considerably darker territory.

Shwabi finds himself trapped in a tavern with a dead body, while simultaneously needing the Captain’s help with his problems involving Shobane.

Then comes an even bigger complication: MaNkwanyane becomes the only witness to a murder.

Suddenly, what characters thought they had buried is no longer safely in the past.

By Episode 95, Shwabi believes he may have escaped the consequences, unaware that MaNkwanyane is carrying what she witnessed. Episode 96 shifts the tension again as Matron intensifies her search for Shobane, while MaNgcobo’s financial problems push her towards desperation.

October’s Homecoming storyline therefore isn’t just about romance or family drama. It’s about consequences — and how one secret can ripple through an entire community.
