On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, Urban Lifestyle joined a select group of invited guests for the exclusive pre-opening of Maison Martell, a luxury cultural destination that officially opens its doors to the public in Johannesburg on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Hosted at the Montecasino Outdoor Event Area in Fourways, the private preview set the tone for what promises to be one of the city’s most refined lifestyle experiences this month.
Guests at the pre-opening were treated to electrifying performances from South African music heavyweights including K.O, Shaun 101, and Marcus Harvey, delivering an unforgettable night that raised the bar for what the rest of Johannesburg can expect in the coming weeks.
A Month of Culture, Cognac and Connection
Open every weekend this month from Thursday to Sunday, Maison Martell transforms Montecasino into a destination where music, culinary artistry and cognac craftsmanship come together in an atmosphere of discovery and refined indulgence.
Visitors will move through a curated walk-through experience featuring guided tastings of Martell’s celebrated Blue Swift and XO cognac expressions, alongside an immersive introduction to the heritage of one of the world’s oldest cognac houses — a legacy that spans more than 300 years of craftsmanship.
The experience is designed not just as an event, but as a cultural residence, bringing together creativity, culture and luxury under one roof.

The Music Experience
Music plays a central role in the Maison Martell residency, celebrating some of South Africa’s most compelling artists across multiple genres.
The weekend programme includes:
- Thursday: Afro-house energy with Darque
- Friday, 13 March: Amapiano sounds from DJ Stokie
- Saturday, 14 March: High-energy performance by Dlala Thukzin
- Sunday, 15 March: A soulful closing set from Langa Mavuso
Each performance adds to the immersive atmosphere that blends luxury nightlife with curated cultural expression.
Culinary Excellence with Chef Coco Reinahrz
Complementing the music is an elevated gastronomic experience curated by renowned African culinary innovator Chef Coco Reinahrz.
Trained in the classical French tradition and having refined his skills in Michelin-starred kitchens, Chef Coco is the visionary behind Epicure at One, where African heritage meets contemporary haute cuisine.
At Maison Martell, his menu celebrates the continent’s vibrant flavours through refined, modern dishes designed to evoke emotion while honouring Africa’s rich culinary identity.
Fashion Meets Contemporary African Style
Luxury fashion also takes centre stage through Martell’s partnership with Bantu Gold, a global fashion house known for redefining contemporary African style.
Fresh from New York Fashion Week and previous showcases at Dubai Fashion Week, Bantu Gold presents a limited edition Bantu Maison collection exclusively for the Maison Martell residency.
The collection features elevated apparel, accessories and storytelling pieces that merge heritage craftsmanship with progressive design — offering guests the opportunity to explore and purchase unique fashion pieces that reflect the spirit of the Maison experience.
A Celebration of Craft and Culture
According to Tintswalo Baloyi, Category Director: Prestige & High Energy at Pernod Ricard South Africa, the experience reflects a natural cultural synergy.
“Martell’s philosophy of time, craft and patience blends naturally with South Africa’s cultural economy — driven by creativity, collaboration and influence. The Maison is where these worlds meet, and you are invited.”
