From Me, To Me: Starbucks Invites You to Take Yourself on a Date This Valentine’s Day
This Valentine’s Day, Starbucks is turning the spotlight inward—encouraging customers to celebrate the most important relationship of all: the one they have with themselves.

The moment marks the beginning of what the brand calls the Year of Me, a theme centred on self-worth, reflection, and the quiet power of everyday rituals that remind you that you are enough. Because love isn’t limited to grand gestures or romantic plans—it can also be found in simply showing up for yourself.

A Simple Ritual of Self-Love
From 12 to 17 February, Starbucks is offering a comforting Valentine’s pairing across all South African stores:
- A Grande Chocolate Mousse Latte (hot or iced)
- Paired with a Chicken Mayo Toastie on sourdough or seeded bread
- All for R91

Whether enjoyed solo or shared with someone special, the experience is designed as a pause—an intentional moment to sit down, breathe, and choose yourself without needing an occasion or explanation.
“You don’t need a reason to choose yourself. Self-love doesn’t replace romance. It precedes it. Sometimes the most meaningful plans are the ones you make for yourself. You are enough, exactly as you are.”
says Leah McCrae, Managing Director at Rand Capital Coffee
Valentine’s Deals Beyond the Store
The self-care celebration also extends to delivery platforms:
- On Uber Eats, order a Grande Chocolate Mousse Latte and receive a free white reusable cup.
- On Mr D Food, enjoy a Grande Latte paired with a Chocolate Brownie for R70.
Availability:
- In-store: 12–17 February

- Mr D Food: 14–17 February
However you choose to spend the day, the invitation is simple: take a moment for yourself, share the experience, and remind someone else that self-love is always worth celebrating.
