South Africa’s most exciting showdown of music, friendship, and fierce competition is back and bigger than ever! Friends of Amstel: The Challenge returns for its highly anticipated Season 2, premiering Saturday, 14 June 2025 at 6PM on eTV.
Back at the helm is none other than the electrifying Lawrence Maleka, the award-winning host known for his charm, wit, and unmatched energy. Returning as the face of the show, Lawrence promises a season that’s “bold, unpredictable, and full of heart.”

What to Expect in Season 2
This season turns up the heat with an exciting format: each episode features a famous South African musician and their three friends (the Defenders) going head-to-head with a fan and their squad (the Challengers) in a series of games and music-based tasks that test friendship, rhythm, and vibe. At stake? A cash prize of up to R60,000, a VIP Friends of Amstel experience, and ultimate bragging rights.
