Dube Twiinz Set to Dominate the Music Scene with “Amawele”

The Dube Twiinz, a dynamic twin duo hailing from Johannesburg, have set the music world abuzz with the release of their highly anticipated single, “Amawele.” Dropped on 05 July 2024, this track is already making waves, poised to become the soundtrack of the summer. “Amawele” masterfully blends traditional African rhythms with modern electronic beats, creating an infectious sound that resonates with audiences far and wide.

Born and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of Turffontein, the Dube Twiinz—whose real names are Thabo and Thabiso Dube—were immersed in a community rich in culture and creativity from a young age. Their upbringing was steeped in the performance arts, thanks to their father’s involvement in the Isicathamiya group, the Chosen Brothers. Watching their father perform in church, where singing and dancing were inseparable, planted the seeds of their future careers.

Their formal dance journey began at Turffontein Primary and later continued at The Hill High School. During their primary school years, they joined the Tsogo Sun dance academy, where they honed their talents. Their admiration for Soweto’s Finest, a legendary dance crew, further influenced their style and aspirations, pushing them to pursue dance with unwavering determination.

The road to success was far from easy. Like many in the creative industry, the twins faced the harsh reality of being expected to perform without proper compensation. They recall a time when they had to walk from Turffontein to Faraday just to earn a meal through dance. These challenges, however, only fueled their ambition and fortified their resolve.

Their perseverance paid off as they gained recognition within the dance community, consistently winning local talent shows and competitions. A turning point came in 2021 when they were introduced to Soweto’s Finest by their late friend Siya. Although Tom London, a pivotal figure in their dance journey, was initially skeptical, their dedication quickly earned his respect, securing their place in the group.

Beyond their impressive dance careers, the Dube Twiinz have diversified their talents into music and modeling. Their debut single “Amawele” features a powerhouse collaboration with Soweto’s Finest, Tom London, Master T Rox, and Nkosi King. This track not only showcases their multifaceted abilities but also marks their official entry into the music industry.

“Amawele” has quickly captivated audiences with its catchy hooks and hypnotic melodies, making it a strong contender for the summer anthem of 2024. The Dube Twiinz’s journey from local dancers to national music sensations is a testament to their talent, hard work, and unyielding faith.

As they step into this new chapter, the Dube Twiinz remain grounded in their roots and committed to their vision.

“Dear brother, as we embark on this new journey in the music space, I want to remind you to stay focused, determined, and most importantly, faithful. The road ahead may be uncertain and challenging at times, but I know that with God on our side, we are unstoppable.”

In a heartfelt message posted on Instagram, they wrote:

Their journey continues to inspire, proving that with perseverance, passion, and faith, dreams can indeed become reality. “Amawele” is more than just a song; it is a celebration of their journey, their culture, and their unshakeable bond as twins. The Dube Twiinz are here to stay, and the world is ready to dance to their beat.
