September is about to turn up the heat in Okhambeni. Homecoming returns with a packed run of episodes that puts romance, family loyalty, crime and political ambition on a collision course.
Airing Monday to Friday at 18:30 on Mzansi Wethu Channel 163, the September storyline runs from Episode 53 on 1 September through Episode 74 on 30 September 2026.
And judging by the episode synopses, nobody in Okhambeni is getting through the month untouched.

Zethu and Msizi: A Love Story Under Pressure
At the centre of the drama is the growing connection between Zethu and Msizi.
What begins with increasing closeness quickly becomes complicated. Msizi’s attempts to build something meaningful with Zethu are repeatedly tested, while MaNkwanyane develops an interest in him that refuses to disappear.
By mid-month, Msizi is trying to introduce Zethu to his family, while MaNkwanyane continues making her own moves.
The romance becomes even more complicated when Msizi finds himself caught in a lie and later faces a surprise arrest and court troubles.
For viewers, the question isn’t simply whether Zethu and Msizi will end up together. It’s whether their relationship can survive the people, secrets and circumstances determined to pull them apart.
Shobane’s Double Life Gets Darker
While romance takes centre stage, Shobane’s storyline heads in a far more dangerous direction.
Shwabi manages to lure him back towards his old ways, and things spiral when a stash of money goes missing. Suddenly, Shobane and Shwabi are under pressure to replace it.
By Episode 59, the consequences become explosive as Shobane’s double life begins to unravel, bringing him into a brutal confrontation with his mother.
His storyline gives September a darker edge, exploring how difficult it can be to escape the environments and choices that shaped you.
Okhambeni Goes Political
Then there is the power struggle.
As the community faces floods and their aftermath, residents rally together, with MaNkwanyane emerging as a generous community figure. At the same time, Khathazile’s political campaign struggles to gain momentum while Shwabi works to strengthen his support.
The campaign eventually reaches the polls, with questions of loyalty, power and political manipulation taking centre stage.
Khathazile refuses to buy loyalty and positions herself as an alternative to Shwabi, but entering politics comes with consequences. By the end of the month, she has tasted victory—and the expectations that come with power.
When Personal Drama Becomes Community Drama
What makes this September storyline particularly compelling is how personal choices increasingly affect the wider community.
Love triangles become public battles. Family secrets threaten relationships. Crime creates consequences beyond the people involved. And political ambition forces Okhambeni’s residents to decide who they trust.
By Episode 74, Khathazile is enjoying political power and shaping laws according to her vision, while MaNkwanyane continues fighting a battle she refuses to abandon.
Homecoming’s September run promises exactly the kind of interconnected drama that keeps audiences talking long after the credits roll.
Homecoming airs Monday to Friday at 18:30 on Mzansi Wethu Channel 163.
