Families looking for an exciting outdoor escape this Easter are in for a treat as Lion & Safari Park and Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve prepare to host a thrilling weekend of wildlife, entertainment, and festive fun.
Taking place from 3–5 April, these two of Gauteng’s most beloved wildlife destinations are transforming into vibrant hubs of activity, offering something special for visitors of all ages. From close-up encounters with iconic South African wildlife to a packed lineup of family-friendly entertainment, the long weekend promises unforgettable experiences.
Young visitors can look forward to a variety of Easter-themed activities designed to keep them engaged throughout the day. Highlights include face painting, balloon sculpting, creative colouring stations, and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny, who will be spreading joy (and Easter eggs) among excited children.
Adding to the excitement, both parks will host a social media competition across the weekend. Guests visiting either location can snap a photo at the designated selfie frame, post it on Instagram, and tag the park for a chance to win incredible prizes.
At Lion & Safari Park, one lucky winner will score an adventure package for two valued at over R6,000. The prize includes a sunset safari with a picnic setup, a snack board and sparkling wine, a quad bike experience, a horseback safari, and a R1,000 food voucher.
Meanwhile, visitors to Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve stand a chance to win an equally impressive experience for two, also valued at over R6,000. This prize features a sunset safari with a picnic setup, a snack board and sparkling wine, a guided WonderCave tour, and a R1,000 food voucher.
Whether it’s spotting majestic wildlife, enjoying festive activities with the family, or simply soaking up the natural beauty of Gauteng’s outdoors, both parks are set to be must-visit destinations this Easter weekend.
Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to fully experience the festivities and ensure their chance to enter the competition.
