- I Need (w/ Mr Shane)
- Overdue
- Balance (w/ Soultouch Deeps)
From the opening chords of Not The Same, a collaboration with Deep Essentials, to the closing groove of Balance, the project is soaked in the texture of South Africa’s rich house legacy. Each track offers something unique, yet the full EP flows as one cohesive narrative—about longing, love, timing, and emotional release.
C-Moody’s production leans into slow-burning rhythms and layered arrangements. On For You, Earl JazziQ and Kali Mija shine, delivering one of the EP’s standout moments—equal parts ethereal and grounded. Meanwhile, I Need, featuring Mr Shane, delivers a more introspective pulse, building tension with moody synths and clean percussion.
The title track, Overdue, arrives as a meditative centerpiece. It’s deep house stripped to its emotional essentials, with groove and atmosphere doing the heavy lifting. Balance wraps things up with Soultouch Deeps in a swirling, soul-driven groove that evokes dusty dancefloors and twilight sets.
C-Moody has long been one of the scene’s understated talents, and Overdue confirms what many heads have known: this producer is a master of his craft. His debut on Selville isn’t just an EP—it’s a statement. For the seasoned selectors, the loyal listeners, and the deep house heads around the world, Overdue is exactly what we’ve been waiting for.
