Power Couple Builds Ace Labs
Power Couples Aren’t Only Forged in Hollywood: Nadia Jaftha and Reece Meyer Are Building a South African Success Story
While Hollywood has long defined what it means to be a “power couple,” a new generation of entrepreneurs is proving that influence is built on far more than celebrity. In Cape Town, recently engaged Nadia Jaftha and Reece Meyer, co-founders of Ace Labs, are redefining modern success by combining friendship, entrepreneurship and a shared commitment to growing South Africa‘s creator economy.
Their story is less about glamour and more about purpose—a partnership built on trust, resilience and the belief that authentic creativity deserves a place on the global stage.

From School Corridors to Business Partners
Long before launching one of South Africa‘s most innovative creative intelligence agencies, Nadia and Reece first crossed paths as students.
Although they shared the same school environment, they were little more than familiar faces passing each other in the corridors. Years later, that casual connection evolved into a close friendship before eventually becoming a relationship rooted in shared values and mutual ambition.
Reflecting on their journey, Nadia says becoming best friends first laid the strongest possible foundation for both their relationship and their business.
“When we really stop and think about it, it does feel surreal. We were genuinely best friends first, and that will always remain our north star. When we eventually connected on a deeper level, it didn’t feel as if we were forcing puzzle pieces together; we just fit. There was a mutual understanding of the work ethic, the values, the pressure, the vision and the sacrifice required to build something meaningful.”
Redefining the Meaning of a Power Couple
In an era where social media often equates influence with visibility, Nadia and Reece represent a different kind of success.
Rather than chasing carefully curated perfection, their influence has been shaped by South African values, entrepreneurial grit and an unwavering commitment to community. Their achievements have come through years of building, adapting and learning rather than overnight fame.
For the couple, success has never been about individual recognition.
Instead, they credit the people around them—including family, collaborators, creators, clients and the Ace Labs team—for helping build the business into what it is today.
“It was never just about the two of us. Behind everything we’ve built is community, team, family, creators, collaborators and the people who helped shape the journey long before it looked like anything. We never wanted success to disconnect us from where we come from. If anything, our roots are what make the work feel authentic.”
Building Ace Labs Brick by Brick
Founded in Cape Town, Ace Labs has grown into a global creative intelligence agency operating at the intersection of storytelling, influence, strategy and data.
The company was born from recognising a significant gap within South Africa‘s rapidly growing creator economy.
Brands increasingly wanted authentic connections with audiences but often struggled to understand creator culture. At the same time, many talented creators possessed influence and creativity but lacked the strategic guidance needed to build sustainable careers.
Ace Labs was created to bridge that divide.

Nadia contributes deep insight into community building, storytelling and cultural relevance, while Reece leads brand strategy, technology, commercial development and data-driven decision-making.
Together, they have developed a business model that helps brands create meaningful partnerships while empowering creators to build long-term careers beyond one-off campaigns.
Reece explains that the company’s vision was always about creating lasting value.
“When we started Ace Labs, we saw the uncharted grey space between brands and creators. Brands wanted cultural relevance but didn’t fully understand creator culture or how to connect with communities in an authentic way. As a brand strategist, I also saw how many talented people had influence and creativity but lacked the strategy and infrastructure to turn that into long-term sustainable careers.”
A Business Built on Partnership
Inside Ace Labs, one philosophy guides everything: “brick by brick.”
The expression reflects both the company’s growth and Nadia and Reece’s relationship.
Working together has required them to navigate pressure, setbacks, difficult decisions and constant change. Rather than weakening their bond, those experiences have strengthened it.
According to Nadia, building a business together quickly reveals every side of a person.
“Building a business together shows you every side of a person very quickly. You learn how to handle pressure, disappointment, risk, conflict and everything in between that people don’t usually show on social media. When you build something brick by brick alongside someone, there’s a different level of respect that develops.”
This collaborative mindset extends throughout Ace Labs, where employees describe a culture driven by teamwork, consistency and a willingness for everyone to contribute regardless of their role.
Championing South Africa’s Creator Economy
Beyond growing a successful business, Nadia and Reece are focused on reshaping how creators are valued within South Africa.

Their vision is to ensure influencers, tastemakers and key opinion leaders are recognised as legitimate entrepreneurs capable of building sustainable businesses rather than simply serving as marketing tools for brands.
They believe authenticity—not imitation—is South Africa‘s greatest competitive advantage.
“For so long, people felt like they had to sound more American, look more polished or water themselves down to succeed on the global stage. But the world connects most with what’s real. The next generation shouldn’t have to ask if this is a real career anymore. They should already know it is.”
Building a Lasting Legacy
As Ace Labs continues to expand its influence, Nadia Jaftha and Reece Meyer are building far more than a successful company.
Together, they are creating a blueprint for modern entrepreneurship—one that proves meaningful relationships, authentic storytelling and cultural pride can become powerful drivers of business success.
Their journey demonstrates that today’s power couples are not defined by Hollywood headlines, but by shared purpose, community impact and the determination to build something meaningful—one brick at a time.
