Four SA Beaches Make Global Beach 100 List

South Africa‘s stunning coastline has once again earned global recognition, with four local beaches securing spots on Corona’s prestigious 2026 Beach 100 list, released in celebration of World Oceans Day.

Boulders Beach

This year, Wilderness Beach joins the internationally acclaimed Camps Bay, Kraalbaai, and Boulders Beach among the world’s most celebrated coastal destinations. The inclusion highlights the diversity and natural beauty of South Africa‘s shores while reinforcing the country’s status as a leading beach destination.

The annual Beach 100 list has grown into a worldwide celebration of exceptional coastal locations. The 2026 edition features beaches from 22 countries and introduces 27 new additions, selected based on scenic beauty, beach culture, and their connection to nature.

According to Melanie Nicholson, Head of Brand for Corona South Africa, the initiative continues to evolve following the success of its inaugural edition.

“Following the incredible global response to Beach 100’s first year, we saw an opportunity to build on that momentum and evolve the platform even further for 2026,”.

She added that the guide is about more than showcasing beautiful beaches.

“The guide is about much more than exploring the world’s most beautiful beaches. It’s about celebrating the natural systems that make those places possible. Through Beach 100, we hope to inspire people to step outside, reconnect with nature, and appreciate the extraordinary coastlines we are fortunate to have both here in South Africa and around the world.”

To encourage meaningful travel experiences, Corona has partnered with Tripadvisor, giving travellers access to more than 300,000 nature-focused experiences across 30 countries. The collaboration will also spotlight conservation-driven itineraries, helping visitors engage with coastal destinations responsibly.

The series highlights coral reefs, mangrove forests, seagrass meadows, and open ocean environments, emphasising the importance of protecting these natural systems for future generations.

Marine conservationist and digital creator Danel Wentzel believes World Oceans Day serves as an important reminder of humanity’s connection to the sea.

“As South Africans, our wellbeing is entirely connected to the health of our oceans, but it’s easy to forget that when we’re caught up in daily routines. World Oceans Day is a reminder to step outside, reconnect with nature, and actively protect the living blue spaces that sustain us. Preservation begins when we experience these places firsthand.”

As the Beach 100 initiative enters its second year, Corona continues to encourage people to put living first, reconnect with nature, and explore the beaches where living calls loudest, while helping to protect the oceans and ecosystems that make these experiences possible.
