Voetspore Returns to South America for a Third Epic Journey
The legendary travel series Voetspore is back with its third and final South American chapter, Voetspore: Suid-Amerika 3, as Johan Badenhorst and his team complete an extraordinary trilogy across one of the world’s most diverse continents. Next is Suriname, a former Dutch colony where diversity defines everyday life. With a population shaped by African, Indian, Indigenous, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim influences, Dutch serves as the unifying language across this multicultural nation.
Exploring the Giant: Brazil
The journey continues into Brazil, the continent’s largest and most dynamic country. The team begins deep within the Amazon basin, following the mighty river to the Atlantic Ocean.
Travelling along the coastline, they pass through vibrant cities and regions including Belém, Natal, and Salvador, before venturing inland and eventually reaching the iconic Rio de Janeiro. The expedition also showcases the beauty of southern Brazil, with stops in Florianópolis and Porto Alegre — cities known for their culture and scenic landscapes.
Full Circle in Uruguay
The epic journey concludes in Uruguay — a symbolic ending as it marks the same country where the team’s South American adventure first began three years ago.
