Starbucks launches five-drink pistachio range as summer rituals replace abandoned resolutions
As 2026 unfolds, there’s a noticeable shift in how people are approaching the start of the year. Instead of ambitious resolutions that often fade fast, many are choosing something simpler: small, repeatable rituals that add moments of comfort and enjoyment to everyday life. This summer, Starbucks South Africa is leaning into that mindset with the return of its popular pistachio range—reimagined and expanded for the season.

Available for a limited time, the pistachio collection introduces three new drinks alongside returning favourites. New additions include the Pistachio Shaken Espresso, the Pistachio Macchiato, and the Pistachio Matcha Latte, which blends matcha green tea with a smooth white chocolate pistachio sauce. Each drink is designed to feel indulgent yet familiar, ideal for slow mornings or mid-day pauses.

Fans of the original range will also be pleased to see the return of the Pistachio Velvet Latte and Pistachio Hot Chocolate, both available hot or iced—perfect for summer days that still call for a comforting treat.
“At this time of year, people are often drawn to small moments that feel familiar and enjoyable. Simple rituals like a drink you look forward to or a pause in the middle of a busy day can become a natural part of everyday life. It’s less about big intentions and more about moments that feel good and easy to return to.”
says Adrian Mazey, CEO of Rand Capital Coffee, the licensee of Starbucks South Africa
This philosophy reflects a broader approach to wellbeing that prioritises consistency over intensity. Rather than overhauling routines, people are finding value in gentle moments of intention—whether it’s a quiet morning coffee, an afternoon catch-up with a colleague, or a brief reset between commitments.

Adding to the season’s offerings, Starbucks is also welcoming back Guatemala Casi Cielo, a much-loved single-origin coffee first introduced in 2004. Sourced from the volcanic Antigua region, this limited-edition coffee is known for its bright lemon acidity and cocoa notes, making it well suited to unhurried mornings and reflective breaks.

Complementing the beverage lineup are two new merchandise collections designed to extend these rituals beyond the cup. Tropical Radiance features vibrant coral florals, while Summer Breeze leans into calming teal tones. Both collections include reusable tumblers and bottles, encouraging sustainable habits alongside everyday enjoyment.

The pistachio range and selected merchandise are available at Starbucks stores nationwide until late February. For more information, visit starbucks.co.za or follow @StarbucksSA on social media.
