Kerrier Collective Drops “Somatic Tick” with BiG AL Remix
Kerrier Collective – Somatic Tick (feat. BiG AL Remix)
Cornish production duo Kerrier Collective return to Colour and Pitch with their latest atmospheric deep house release, “Somatic Tick”, arriving 19 December 2025. Featuring the distinctive vocals and horn arrangements of long-time collaborator Polly Myrick, the track is paired with a silky, rolling remix from global deep house tastemaker BiG AL.

Known for their genre-blending, emotive productions, Kerrier Collective — the pairing of Ben Tidy and Alfie Gidley — have steadily gained acclaim, with previous works earning support on BBC 6 Music, NTS, and Jazz FM. As they prepare a wave of new releases and a live set poised for the road, “Somatic Tick” signals the start of an exciting new chapter.
A Track Born in an Off-Grid Cabin
“Somatic Tick” found its beginnings on an overcast day in Ben’s off-grid Cornish cabin, powered only by sunlight — a setup that forces quick, intuitive creativity.
“When you don’t think about it, all of your influences can come out to play. 90s New York house, Jungle, Hardcore… then disco elements with handclaps and Rhodes. Three hours later there was a full arrangement. Flow state had done all the work.”
Ben explains
This spontaneous burst of creativity became the DJ version of the track, built on a constant pedal note that never resolves, creating a floating, dreamlike feel.
Alfie’s Harmonic Lift
Returning from tour, Alfie added the harmonic grounding needed for the studio version.
“The vocals asked for a lift in the chorus sections. Grounding the track let it lift properly when needed. We loved the contrast so much that both versions made the final release.”
he says
The result is a dual-format offering that captures both the raw immediacy of Ben’s original session and the musical depth of Alfie’s chord-led approach.
Polly Myrick’s Sleazy-Disco Horns & Vocal Punch
Polly Myrick’s creative contribution took shape almost instantly.
“Most of the vocal ideas came out in one session. I chose percussive, satisfying words and wrote horns with a sleazy disco feel.”
she shares
Lyrically, “Somatic Tick” reflects the frenetic pace of modern life, touching on overwhelm, smartphone fatigue, and the evolving culture of digital interactions and dating.
BiG AL’s Hypnotic Rework
For the remix, deep house veteran BiG AL injects his signature rolling grooves and subtle melodic flourishes. Having carved his place across the U.S. East Coast, Montreal, and far beyond, BiG AL brings global sensibility and rhythmic finesse to the reimagining.
His remix respects the original’s mood while steering it into a smoother, hypnotic territory ideal for late-night sets.
