BALLANTINE’S x TRUE MUSIC EVENT HEADS BACK TO PRETORIA
The city of Pretoria will once again play host to the penultimate Ballantine’s x True Music Series event in South Africa, in partnership with DJ and producer Kid Fonque, at the African Beer Emporium on Friday, 1 February.
“Our first event in Pretoria (last year) was a massive success with many people from the city asking for us to bring it back and that’s exactly what we have done. This time featuring some of the country’s most exciting talent, all ready to bring their music to life alongside the artwork of Felipe Pantone,” says Simone Smith, Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky Brand Manager.
Collaborating with famed Argentinian-Spanish visual and kinetic street artist Felipe Pantone, the Ballantine’s True Music Series is an annual project that gives uncompromising artists a unique platform to share and visualise music and different music scenes that inspire artists and fans worldwide.
The artists on the line-up include Pierre Johnson, Kat La Kat, Trancemicsoul and Kid Fonque, who will all connect their music to the artwork created by Felipe Pantone. The artwork will act as its own equaliser, allowing musicians to experience a visual representation of the music they produce and play within the space, ensuring a performance experience like no other for music fans.
Felipe’s latest pieces for the Ballantine’s True Music Series have been inspired by underground club culture, the recording and production process, and music soundwaves.
“It promises to be another amazing event in the home of house music. Make sure not to miss out. We got Cape Town’s Pierre Johnson, Pretoria’s Kat La Kat and Trancemicsoul and myself, Kid Fonque at the African Beer Emporium, see you on Friday, 1 February,” says DJ, producer and Ballantine’s x True Music Series co-ordinator, Kid Fonque.
The event takes place on Friday, 1 February from 7pm, tickets are available at the door for R100. For more information on the Ballantine’s True Music Series visit http://www.ballantines.com/truemusicseries.
