In a bold expression of unity through movement, PUMA, iconic sneaker and streetwear retailer Shelflife, and Cape Town-based urban running crew The Nine Four have joined forces to launch Ninefouria Volume 1, a striking co-branded running culture collection. Available exclusively at Shelflife’s Cape Town store and online platform, this limited-edition drop redefines what it means to run with purpose and style.

The collection emerges from a long-standing partnership spanning more than a decade between PUMA and The Nine Four—a crew known not just for its international race presence but for cultivating a strong sense of community through running. The tagline of the collection, “The whole is always greater than the sum of the parts,” encapsulates the power of collective euphoria—highlighting both the personal solitude of the runner’s high and the intense energy generated when running as a crew.
“It’s about the energy that multiplies when individuals move as one, transforming effort into something transcendent. It’s where culture is born – forged by the bonds that emerge in the space between exhaustion and exhilaration.”
said Paul Ward, founder of The Nine Four
Designed by Cape Town-born illustrator and designer Cheyne Maasdorp, aka Urika Boss, who now works with PUMA in Germany, the collection features bold monochrome aesthetics. From graphic tees and vests to running bras, tights, long sleeve crew tops, and visors—the collection is richly detailed with custom artwork blending PUMA’s branding, Shelflife’s edge, and The Nine Four’s iconic bunny motif.
“The Nine Four are so much more than a run crew. They are a space where creativity thrives, where culture is born rather than imitated.”
said Brett Bellinger, PUMA SA Marketing Director

“Health and wellness are a massive part of what keeps our ecosystem thriving, and this collaboration speaks directly to that ethos—blending style, movement, and a deep-rooted sense of community.”
Jake Lipman, Brand and Marketing Manager at Shelflife, added:
Ninefouria Volume 1 isn’t just about gear; it’s a statement of identity for non-conformist runners who value both performance and expression. Prices range from R399 for a running cap to R2 099 for oversized pants.

Whether you’re chasing a PB or just out for a sunset city run, Ninefouria Volume 1 invites you to celebrate the rhythm of movement, the power of the pack, and the culture that’s born when the street becomes your track.
