DaniMali Ignites Johannesburg: Jazz Dialogues Tour Stops at Beatrand on 26 July
The heart of Johannesburg will beat to the rhythm of Afro-Jazz as DaniMali, led by acclaimed South African saxophonist and composer Nhlanhla Mahlangu, brings their Dialogues Across Provinces Tour to Beatrand on 26 July 2025. This highly anticipated stop forms part of a five-date national tour celebrating jazz as a powerful vehicle for cultural expression and community connection.
Situated in the vibrant creative district of Johannesburg, Beatrand is the perfect setting for this sonic journey—known for its bold curation of live music experiences and support for independent artistry. Attendees can expect an immersive night of rich musical storytelling, emotive saxophone melodies, and dynamic ensemble performances rooted in African rhythms and indigenous knowledge systems.
“Johannesburg is more than just a stop—it’s a hub of creativity and resistance. We’re looking forward to exchanging energy and sparking conversation through the music,”.
said Mahlangu
The Dialogues Across Provinces Tour is presented in partnership with Concerts SA, the Hugh Masekela Heritage Foundation, DaniMali NPC, Makhubeng Music, and Urban Zulu, with support from UNISA, SAMRO, and the National Treasury Jobs Fund through the Music Mobility Fund.
As part of this interprovincial journey, DaniMali uses performance as a platform to bridge generational, cultural, and geographical divides. The Johannesburg leg is set to be one of the most energetic shows on the tour, offering Joburg audiences a chance to witness jazz reimagined as both memory and movement.
