There is something special about hearing an international artist step into South Africa and discover that the connection goes far beyond a concert ticket.
For New Zealand soul artist TEEKS, that connection is about to become very real. The acclaimed singer has arrived in South Africa for a three-city Live in South Africa tour, bringing his intimate, emotionally charged sound to Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
The timing could not be better. As live music continues to create spaces for people to reconnect, TEEKS‘ arrival offers South African audiences an opportunity to experience an artist whose music thrives on vulnerability, emotion and human connection.

From New Zealand to Cape Town
The tour officially begins tonight, Thursday, 27 August, at GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, before moving to Durban on Friday and Johannesburg on Sunday.
TEEKS has built an international following through songs including Remember Me, Without You, First Time and Something To Feel. His velvet-toned vocals and deeply personal songwriting have helped establish a sound that feels both contemporary and timeless.
But this tour is not simply about importing an international act into the South African entertainment calendar.
It is about creating a cultural exchange through music.

Durban Gets a South African Connection
The Durban leg could be particularly interesting for local music fans.
TEEKS will perform at The Station on Friday, 28 August, with South African singer-songwriter Kyle Deutsch joining him as the special opening artist.
Putting two artists from different musical backgrounds and countries on the same bill creates an opportunity for something more meaningful than a support slot. It places South African talent directly alongside an international soul artist and gives audiences a chance to experience how different interpretations of contemporary soul can share the same stage.
For a local music scene that continues to produce artists capable of travelling globally, those moments matter.

An Intimate Start Before the Big Stages
Ahead of the tour, Sony Music hosted an intimate dinner at Artistry in Sandton, with broadcaster and presenter Zanele Potelwa hosting an evening that brought TEEKS together with selected fans.
That welcome provided a more personal introduction to South Africa before the larger crowds arrive.

And perhaps that is the best way to understand what TEEKS brings to the stage. His music is built around emotional storytelling rather than spectacle alone.
The upcoming performances promise powerful vocals, intimate moments and the kind of live experience where the distance between artist and audience can feel considerably smaller.

Three Cities, One Soulful Experience
Following Cape Town, TEEKS heads to Durban before closing the South African run in Johannesburg on Sunday, 30 August, at Parklive Jozi at Marks Park in Emmarentia.
For South African fans, the tour represents more than another international name on a concert poster. It is a chance to see how a New Zealand artist’s interpretation of soul resonates with audiences thousands of kilometres from home.
And if the intimate welcome is any indication, TEEKS’ South African chapter is only just beginning.
TEEKS Live in South Africa is a Breakout Events production.
