Switch and OMODA Deliver 15 New Cars to Winners

Switch and OMODA Handover 15 Brand-New Cars After Record Campaign

With more than 3.8 million entries received nationwide, Switch Energy Drink and OMODA South Africa have officially concluded one of the country’s most talked-about consumer campaigns by handing over the final 15 brand-new OMODA C7 vehicles to lucky winners.

The milestone event took place at Switch’s head office, marking the grand finale of the highly successful “Switch Up Your Life” competition — a campaign that transformed everyday purchases into life-changing opportunities.

A Campaign That Captured the Nation

Running from September 2025 to January 2026, the competition turned every can of Switch Energy Drink into an entry to win one of 20 OMODA C7 vehicles, alongside a massive R20-million prize pool.

The campaign quickly gained national momentum, reaching an impressive 329 million people through radio, digital platforms, and out-of-home media. Influencer collaborations generated 6.9 million impressions, while social media engagement averaged 4.8%, highlighting strong audience participation across platforms.

“Watching these final 15 winners drive off in their OMODA C7s and hearing how it’s unlocking their freedom is the reason why we run campaigns like this. Our customers are the heartbeat of the brand, and partnering with OMODA let us deliver something meaningful.”

Zhuraan Glade, Head of Marketing at Switch Energy Drink, reflected on the campaign’s success:

Life-Changing Moments for Winners

For many winners, the prize represented far more than simply receiving a new vehicle — it symbolised financial relief, independence, and future opportunities.

“Winning the car is about so much more than just the vehicle itself. It brings a huge sense of financial relief knowing we no longer have to worry about monthly car instalments. As parents to a two-year-old, we want to make sure we can give our daughter the very best.”

Christine Warden (30) from Kempton Park shared how the win will transform her family’s future:

“Having the keys to a car brings my dream within reach and marks a meaningful step in the right direction.”

Meanwhile, Will Mxabanisi, a 22-year-old student from Kuilsrivier, described the prize as a stepping stone toward entrepreneurship:

Each vehicle handover was captured in emotional one-on-one moments, forming part of a cinematic documentary series that will be released across Switch and OMODA’s digital platforms, showcasing the real stories behind the wins.

A Partnership Driven by Purpose

According to Lungelo Zwane, Brand Manager at OMODA, the collaboration highlighted what happens when brands align around a shared mission.

“Our partnership with Switch is about the real impact and difference we can make in people’s lives by giving them something of true value. Seeing these winners step into that next chapter reinforces what happens when two brands align with purpose and a common goal — to make a difference.”

More Than a Competition

With the final keys officially handed over, “Switch Up Your Life” stands as proof that modern brand campaigns can go beyond marketing to create genuine social impact. By rewarding everyday consumers and amplifying real-life stories, Switch Energy Drink and OMODA South Africa have demonstrated how meaningful engagement can translate into lasting change.
