SPAR Carols By Candlelight Presented by Jacaranda FM Raises Nearly R1 Million for Communities in Need
The SPAR Carols By Candlelight Presented By Jacaranda FM once again lit up the festive season with joy, music, and generosity. Hosted at the iconic SunBet Arena in Menlyn, this year’s event delivered a magical evening of Christmas spirit—complete with a stellar musical line-up, sold-out attendance, and a remarkable fundraising effort that touched communities across South Africa.
With families, friends, and festive enthusiasts filling over 7,000 seats well ahead of time, the beloved annual event proved why it remains a highlight of the holiday calendar. Beyond the enchanting carols and world-class entertainment, its purpose has always been rooted in giving back—and 2024 was one of its most impactful years yet.

Nearly R1 Million Raised for Those Who Need It Most
The success extended far beyond packed seats and vibrant performances. Together, attendees and partners raised R927,216, supporting meaningful causes and uplifting communities during the holiday season. The funds directly contributed to:

Overall, 24 communities across four provinces benefited, demonstrating the life-changing impact that collective generosity can have.
“SPAR Carols By Candlelight is so much more than a concert; it’s a cherished annual tradition that truly embodies the spirit of giving. The fact that we were a sold-out show and raised nearly a million rand is a testament to the heart and kindness of our listeners and our partners at SPAR.”
says Vuyani Dombo, Managing Director of Jacaranda FM
Dombo adds that the event continues to blend world-class entertainment with meaningful community upliftment, made possible through unwavering support from partners, performers, and loyal listeners.
