PUMA and acclaimed Montreal-based design studio JJJJound have once again joined forces to deliver a refined take on the iconic PUMA Mostro. Known for his clean, minimalist design ethos, JJJJound brings a thoughtful and understated interpretation to the bold silhouette, proving that less truly is more.

This latest collaboration sees the Mostro reimagined with a pared-down approach that highlights quality craftsmanship and material excellence. Each pair features a luxurious nubuck upper paired with a supple leather liner, sitting atop the silhouette’s signature spiked sole unit in black. Offering both style and substance, the collection is available in two sophisticated colourways: a rich Brown and a deep Navy Blue.

While the original Mostro design from 1999 featured a distinct forefoot strap, JJJJound introduces a subtle update by replacing the strap with conventional lacing, complementing the sneaker’s soft butter yellow liner. PUMA’s Formstrip is subtly stitched into the upper, adding to the collection’s minimalist appeal. True to JJJJound’s signature branding approach, the logo is discreetly stamped on the insole.

In a nod to sneaker collectors and close collaborators, PUMA and JJJJound have also created a special “friends and family” edition that stays true to the OG Mostro design with a strap closure and two-tone palette—making it a coveted rarity.

The JJJJound x PUMA Mostro collection drops on 12 July 2025, exclusively at Shelflife, retailing for R2 999. With its refined detailing and timeless design, this release is expected to be one of the most talked-about minimalist sneaker collaborations of the year.
