Following the success of his critically acclaimed and SAMA-nominated EP Next Level, South African creative visionary, DJ and cultural tastemaker Lelowhatsgood has officially released his highly anticipated new EP, Rebirth Is Necessary.

Released on Friday, 3 July 2026, the project marks a significant evolution in Lelowhatsgood’s artistic journey, delivering a fearless blend of innovation, culture and deeply personal storytelling through sound.

Building on the sonic blueprint established by Next Level, Rebirth Is Necessary fuses 3-Step, Afro Tech, Gqom, Is’qinsi and experimental club music into a body of work that challenges traditional ideas of dance music. The EP creates a rich soundscape where African musical heritage meets futuristic production, inviting listeners into an immersive experience that celebrates transformation and creative freedom.

Speaking about the project, Lelowhatsgood explains that the EP is designed to encourage listeners to rethink the possibilities of club music.
