STREETON Unveils First Glimpse of Iridescence
British producer and DJ STREETON has officially launched the opening chapter of his highly anticipated debut album, Iridescence, with the release of “The Waters” featuring Lucy Sparks and MIFE, alongside “Where We Started” featuring acclaimed saxophonist David Kayode. Together, the two singles offer an immersive introduction to an album that promises to celebrate broken beat, jazz, soulful house and London’s thriving underground music culture.
Scheduled for release in March 2027 via Sonar Kollektiv, Iridescence marks STREETON’s most ambitious project to date, following a string of acclaimed EPs and singles that have established him as one of the UK’s rising names in broken beat and future jazz.

Originally from the Hertfordshire countryside before relocating to London nearly a decade ago, STREETON has steadily built a reputation for productions that blend warm musicality with dancefloor-ready grooves. His signature sound combines rich chord progressions, deep basslines, intricate percussion and soulful melodies, creating music that feels equally at home in clubs, headphones and intimate listening sessions.
Having released music through respected labels including Dance Regular, Darker Than Wax, To The Rock and Boogie Café, while also performing at We Out Here Festival and appearing on Rinse FM and Voices Radio, STREETON continues to push broken beat into fresh creative territory without losing sight of its roots.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, STREETON explains:
“I’ve always been interested in the idea of storytelling, whether that’s in productions or DJ sets, and after releasing a string of EPs and singles, I was really keen to create a longer-format project where I could really have the space to explore a theme or a concept.”
A Soulful Introduction with “The Waters”
The first single, “The Waters”, showcases the more reflective side of STREETON’s artistry. Featuring Bristol vocalist Lucy Sparks alongside Berlin-based saxophonist, producer and composer MIFE (Efim Braylovskiy), the track blends glowing piano chords, fluid percussion, soulful vocals and expressive saxophone improvisation into an elegant sonic landscape.
Reflecting on the collaboration, STREETON shared that he and Lucy Sparks connected through mutual friends and their shared appreciation for broken beat music.
“I was already a fan of their music and her super soulful, raw vocal style. After sending her a few demos she sent back the first take for The Waters and I was truly blown away.”
MIFE’s jazz-inspired approach adds another rich layer to the production, creating a track that feels both intimate and expansive.
“Where We Started” Turns Up the Energy
While The Waters leans into warmth and atmosphere, “Where We Started” shifts the focus squarely onto the dancefloor.
Featuring London-born saxophonist, composer and Tomorrow’s Warriors alumnus David Kayode, the single is driven by hypnotic percussion, rolling basslines, spoken-word textures and vibrant synth work. Kayode’s commanding saxophone performance brings the production to life, particularly through its infectious Afrobeat-inspired melodic hook.
Speaking about the collaboration, STREETON said:
“I was already a big fan of David and a friend of mine, the broken beat producer Cengiz, put me in touch after he recorded on his track MOTF. I sent him the demo for Where We Started and it’s safe to say he absolutely nailed it — particularly the Afrobeats line that instantly made the hook of the track.”
The track gradually evolves into a meditation on identity, roots and returning to where one’s journey began, themes that continue throughout Iridescence.
A Celebration of Community and Identity
At its core, Iridescence explores belonging, movement, creativity and personal growth through a musical palette rooted in jazz, funk, soul, house and London’s collaborative music communities.
Growing up surrounded by these diverse musical influences before immersing himself in London’s vibrant creative scene has shaped STREETON’s vision for the project.
Reflecting on the album’s meaning, he explains:
“I think the album represents the journey of getting to that point, the vibrancy and colour of pursuing your art and the growing sense of identity that comes with finding your place and people within that.”
Together, “The Waters” and “Where We Started” showcase two complementary sides of STREETON’s artistic identity—one introspective and soulful, the other energetic and rhythm-driven. As anticipation builds for Iridescence in 2027, the two singles firmly establish STREETON as one of the most exciting emerging voices in the UK’s soulful electronic and broken beat movement.
