Crime drama fans can now tune in to Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, which premiered on Universal TV on 9 June 2026. The gripping new series airs every Tuesday at 8 PM on DStv Channel 117, with the season finale scheduled for 11 August 2026.

Set against the backdrop of Canada’s largest city, the series follows Detective Sergeants Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman, an exceptional investigative duo known for solving some of Toronto’s most challenging murder cases.

Graff is a brilliant investigator with an endless fascination for criminal psychology. His sharp intellect and unconventional methods often help uncover crucial breakthroughs. Alongside him is Bateman, an empathetic and highly intuitive detective whose understanding of human behaviour allows her to connect the dots where others cannot. Together, they balance intelligence, instinct, and determination in pursuit of justice.

Unlike traditional crime procedurals that focus solely on identifying the culprit, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent explores the motivations behind each crime. Every episode examines the psychological forces that drive individuals toward murder, including greed, revenge, betrayal, jealousy, love, and self-preservation.

The first season draws inspiration from real Canadian headlines, taking viewers through stories involving politics, high finance, media, real estate, and organised crime. The series also showcases Toronto’s diverse neighbourhoods and iconic locations, from the affluent streets of Rosedale to the bustling community of Little India, highlighting the city’s rich cultural landscape.

Leading the cast are Aden Young as Detective Sergeant Henry Graff and Kathleen Munroe as Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman. They are joined by Karen Robinson, K.C. Collins, Nicola Correia-Damude, Araya Mengesha, Daniel Kash, Tammy Isbell, Christie Stewart, Lindsay Owen Pierre, and Maika Harper.

The season also features notable guest appearances from Peter Mooney, Amanda Brugel, Chantel Riley, Tim Rozon, and Atticus Mitchell.

Produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures in association with Universal International Studios and Citytv, the series is based on the internationally acclaimed Law & Order franchise. Acclaimed producer and writer Tassie Cameron serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside an experienced production team.

With compelling mysteries, memorable characters, and a strong emphasis on criminal psychology, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent offers a fresh take on the beloved franchise while delivering stories inspired by real-world events.

Viewers who missed the premiere can still catch new episodes every Tuesday at 8 PM on Universal TV, available on DStv Channel 117 across Africa, with the season running until 11 August 2026.
