The award-winning Afrikaans feature film My fk Marelize* officially premiered on kykNET on 9 May at 20:00 and is also available on DStv Stream and Catch Up for viewers who missed the broadcast.
The film became a fan favourite after winning the audience award at the Silwerskerm Festival in Cape Town last year. At the prestigious Silwerskerm Awards for Film and TV, the movie also secured two major acting honours, with Je-ani Swiegelaar winning Best Actress in a Feature Film and Zandélle Meyer taking home Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film.

Inspired by the viral video of Marelize Horn crashing her bicycle into a rugby pole while her mother shouted the now-famous phrase, “my f*k, Marelize,” the film explores the real family story behind the internet sensation. Set in Windhoek, the emotional and humorous feature highlights the family’s challenges, love and resilience.
Following its cinema release in August 2025, My fk Marelize* topped the South African box office during its opening weekend, proving its popularity with local audiences.
Blending comedy, heartfelt family moments and relatable South African humour, the film continues to resonate with viewers across the country.
