One of the most promising & versatile of the fresh crop of South African electronic producers, Thakzin makes his first outing on Foliage with the stunning collaboration ‘Don’t Let Me See’, featuring SA songstress Ray T. ‘Don’t Let Me See’ follows on from Thakzin’s recent releases on Sondela and also Rocco Rodamaal’s Memories imprint.
Thakzin counts his peers Shimza, Themba or Black Coffee as some of his biggest homegrown ambassadors. He co-produced Themba’s “Sound Of Freedom” released in 2021, one of Themba’s most popular tracks on Spotify (1M streams across the board). A DJ at heart since his early years, Thakzin is a prolific performer in South Africa and is preparing his first International dates for the Spring & Summer of 2023, including Sondela events.
In the last 12 months, he released the smash hit “ICU” in collab with Sun-EL Musician & Thandazo on Rocco Rodamaal‘s ‘Memories’ imprint and collaborated on quality releases with Nana Atta, Vitoto, Oscar MBO & Mörda amongst others. Thakzin‘s last single “The Magnificent Dance” (released in Dec 2022 on Sondela) was one of the most viral tracks of the South African summer & is causing a stir globally, reaching the #1 position on Beatport in Amapiano, the Top 3 on Traxsource Afro House and has been streamed around 100K times.
