Centurion Entrepreneur Koketso Ramatlho Wins Big on Engen The Making Of 2025
Centurion Entrepreneur, Koketso Ramatlho, Wins R250 000+ to Grow Her Natural Skincare Brand on Engen The Making Of 2025
From home remedy to thriving brand
What began as a mother’s mission to heal her son has grown into one of South Africa’s most uplifting wellness success stories. Today, Centurion-based entrepreneur Koketso Ramatlho — founder of the fast-growing natural skincare brand Angela Care — is proving that passion, indigenous knowledge, and entrepreneurial resilience can create powerful impact.
Her journey started when her young son struggled with severe eczema. Traditional treatments offered little relief, leaving Koketso desperate for an alternative. It was her daughter, Angela, who suggested trying Moringa — a plant long celebrated for its healing benefits. Within weeks, her son’s skin had improved dramatically. That breakthrough ignited Koketso’s curiosity and creativity, inspiring her to start crafting natural soaps and butters at home.

Angela Care, named in honour of her daughter’s kindness, now produces a full range of natural skin and hair care products made from African botanicals such as Moringa, Turmeric, and Baobab. What began as kitchen experiments has become a flourishing business, with Koketso now shipping to eight countries — a testament to authenticity, purpose, and unwavering belief.
A test of resilience — and a winning moment
Earlier this year, Koketso entered Engen The Making Of, the entrepreneurial reality series that challenges South African founders to innovate, pitch, problem-solve, and grow under pressure. Week after week, she impressed with her consistency, creativity, and determination.
Her hard work ultimately paid off: Koketso was crowned the winner of Engen The Making Of Season 2, walking away with more than R250 000 in cash prizes.
“It feels absolutely incredible. It’s not just about the money, but what it represents — hard work and perseverance.”
she shares
Koketso plans to reinvest the prize into expanding Angela Care’s infrastructure.
“I’ve been working on expanding our offices and building a home lab, so this money will definitely help complete that process. Having our very own Angela Care Lab will allow us to research, test and formulate new products with even more creativity and precision — ensuring we stay true to our promise of quality and natural excellence.”
she says
For her, the win is symbolic — a reminder of the importance of trusting herself, even through moments of doubt.
“There were moments during the competition where I started doubting myself, but I pushed through. This win reminds me never to doubt myself, even when the going gets tough.”
Growth beyond the prize
Beyond the financial boost, Koketso says Engen The Making Of transformed her perspective as a business owner.
“The experience pushed me to think differently — not just as a business owner, but from the customer’s perspective, too. I learnt that losing a challenge doesn’t mean failure. It simply means you’ve found another way to grow. This experience taught me to be gentler on myself and to treat setbacks as preparation for something bigger.”
she reflects
From high-pressure pitches to team-based problem-solving, the competition strengthened her adaptability and leadership.
“When presenting a solution, you’re likely not the only one doing so — so what makes your solution the one that wins? Challenge by challenge, I improved, and that’s a skill I’m truly grateful for.”
Beyond beauty: a mission rooted in care
For Koketso, entrepreneurship is deeply personal. Angela Care grew from love, necessity, and a desire to restore wellness. Today, it stands as a brand rooted in indigenous wisdom and nature’s healing power.
“With Angela Care, my mission goes beyond beauty. It’s about holistic wellness powered by natural ingredients. This journey taught me to embrace growth, even when it feels uncomfortable — and to trust myself more.”
she says
Her authenticity, humility, and perseverance made her a standout favourite among viewers — and her victory is proof that success is built not on perfection, but on persistence.
