Mahindra South Africa has officially kicked off the race to Fusion Fest 2026, returning on Saturday, 7 March 2026 at the iconic SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria. Back by massive public demand after its groundbreaking debut, the festival promises an even more electrifying, immersive experience where music, art and fashion collide to create one proudly South African cultural explosion.

Announcing the launch, Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa, highlighted the event’s role in uplifting creativity and community:
“Fusion Fest is a celebration of South Africa’s incredible creative spirit — bold, energetic and built on the belief that together we rise. After an extraordinary response to our first edition, 2026 will be even bigger, more ambitious, and more powerful.”
Fusion Fest is designed as a cultural movement featuring four boundary-breaking fusion performances, each merging unexpected genres, artists and ideas.

FUSION 1: REWIND THE REVOLUTION
A nostalgic throwback with legends
Zöe Modiga journeys back to her birth year — 1994 — celebrating the soundtrack of a generation with contributions from Mafikizolo, Kurt Darren and Claire Johnston. It’s iconic, emotional, and a love letter to South Africa’s shared rhythm and evolution.
FUSION 2: HIPHOP MOST HIGH
Where hip hop meets praise
Heavyweights BLXKIE and Maglera Doe Boy team up with the Tshwane Gospel Choir for a spirit-lifting, genre-bending performance that flows from rap to devotion. It’s the sound of Sunday reimagined — powerful, soulful and goosebump-inducing.
FUSION 3: FEMME FOR ALL
A celebration of powerhouse women
A quartet of queens — Naledi Aphiwe, Karen Zoid, Nomfundo Moh and Mariechan — bring a whirlwind of emotion, range and generational girl-power anthems. Expect a dazzling blend of tender, fierce, soft, explosive and everything in between.
FUSION 4: ALL ABOUT NOW
A youth-driven celebration of today’s sound
Three of SA’s current trailblazers — Zee Nxumalo, Focalistic and Daliwonga — unite in an amapiano-forward, genre-surfing performance celebrating the now, the next and the energy of a borderless youth culture.
Taking Fusion Fest to the People
To build nationwide hype, Mahindra ignited the journey with a high-energy roadshow at UCT and is now heading to Durban’s Beach Marine Parade this December. The goal: give South Africans a vibrant taste of the 2026 experience before the big day arrives.
A Talent Hunt Powered by Music, Fashion and Art
Mahindra is also running a dynamic talent competition inspired by the core pillars of the festival. Creators can enter across Music, Fashion and Art, with each category winner receiving:
