Lion & Safari Park’s Little Rangers Program Inspires Young Wildlife Warriors
Adventure Meets Conservation: Lion & Safari Park’s Little Rangers Program Inspires the Next Generation of Wildlife Warriors
In a world where screen time often outweighs green time, Lion & Safari Park has crafted an immersive experience that reconnects children with nature—introducing the Little Rangers Adventure Club, a unique program designed to inspire conservation through play, learning, and hands-on exploration.
Located a mere 13 km from Lanseria Airport, the Lion & Safari Park is already a well-known wildlife destination for locals and tourists alike. Now, it’s becoming a magnet for families looking to instill values of environmental stewardship in their children. Tailored for kids aged 5 to 12, the Little Rangers program offers weekend sessions that are as fun as they are educational, giving young adventurers the chance to trade screens for safari scenes.
“At Lion & Safari Park, we believe that fostering a love for wildlife starts at a young age. The Little Rangers program is our way of nurturing the next generation of conservationists by providing them with unforgettable, hands-on experiences that connect them to nature.”
shares Shandor Larenty, Group Wildlife and Conservation Manager
What to Expect in the Wild
Participants can look forward to activities like:
- Giraffe feeding
- Paw and spoor tracking
- Lion talks
- Bush survival basics
- Art in the park
- Conservation-themed games and learning activities
Each child receives a safari vest, field guide, and a Cub Scout badge upon sign-up, all included in the R300 registration fee. For just R130 per session, kids can attend engaging 90-minute sessions every Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 10:30.
Level Up in Conservation
As part of a thoughtfully structured tier system, every completed activity earns a badge. With four ascending levels—Cub Scout, Safari Star, Wildlife Warrior, and finally, Little Game Ranger—kids are encouraged to set goals and grow their knowledge. Graduating at Level 4 even comes with a free birthday party hosted in the park, complete with venue and setup.
This dynamic program not only instills eco-awareness but also builds confidence, curiosity, and lifelong memories. Whether it’s learning about endangered species or tracking animal footprints, each experience brings kids one step closer to becoming true ambassadors of nature.
