Who is Mathousand16?
Born and raised in Cape Town, Mathousand16 began his music career in 2016, refining his craft before debuting on streaming platforms in 2022 with the single ‘Ingwenyama’. Deeply inspired by African drumming, chanting, and dance, his music incorporates Ingoma—a traditional form of rhythmic storytelling—creating a sense of connection and movement through a call-and-answer style.
