You’ve no doubt seen Usher’s viral “watch this” meme which emerged after his NPR Tiny Desk concert to wrap up Black Music Month. The meme and the performance have clearly evoked a sense of nostalgia, as his Confessions (Expanded Edition) album became the biggest climber on the South African Top Albums chart this week.

Locally, the internet community is still obsessed with Kabza De Small, with his song with Msaki  Khusela taken from his latest album KOA II Part 1  claiming the most spots on Top Songs Pretoria. Dubbed the biggest album of 2022, KOA II Part 1  took the number one spot on Spotify’s Top 5 albums in South Africa.
