Muziwakhe Mazibuko (born 16 May 1991), known mononymously as Muzi, is a South African DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. Muziwakhe “Muzi” Mazibuko was born on 16 May, 1991 in Ngwelezane, a township located on the outskirts of Empangeni, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Muzi has been producing electronic music since the age of 13, when his mother bought a computer for him and his brother. His brother installed music-making application software, FruityLoops, on the computer. This introduced Muzi to music production.

In 2009, Muzi began his professional music career by forming a hip hop/electronic music group called Witness The Funk alongside some of his fellow first-year UKZN students. Muzi later left the group. In 2013, he was producing beats for artists such as JR., Psyfo, Kabelo Mabalane, Okmalumkoolkat, and others.

On September 2, 2016, Muzi released his debut album Boom Shaka, with the album title being inspired by the kwaito group of the same name. Mazibuko released his second album, Afrovision on May 11, 2018.

Having soaked up the sounds of the time, he now expertly blends together cutting edge urban and electronic music with local genres like Maskandi, Kwaito, Iscathamiya and South African Bubblegum Pop of the 80s and 90s to his new album “Zeno“.

But the question is why did he call his album Zeno? From the looks of things he named the album after his daughter it might be for the love he has for his child.

ZENO’ was written, recorded and produced mostly in South Africa with MUZIcreating the album’s finishing touches while on tour in the States. Probably you already know this, if you have watch the Trace Fest 2019 video. This album continues to be a demonstration of MUZI’s ahead-of-the-game musical output which consists of 12 tracks including the recent release Good Vibes Only featuring Espacio Dios, who appears on the guestlist along with Samthing Soweto, Blackrose and Zithulele.
