Y Presents ‘First Touch’ Football and Padel Tournament – Where Sports, Music and Culture Collide
Gauteng’s biggest youth radio station, Y, is turning up the heat this spring with the inaugural First Touch Football and Padel Tournament – a dynamic fusion of sport, music, and culture taking place on Saturday, 13 September 2025, at Marks Park Sports Club, Johannesburg.
Far from being just another sports event, First Touch promises an all-day lifestyle celebration. From high-intensity 5-a-side football battles to adrenaline-pumping padel matches, and a festival experience stacked with top-tier entertainment, this is where athletes, music lovers, and trendsetters meet.
The Sports: Football & Padel with a Star-Studded Twist
From 12 PM to 5 PM, sixteen teams will go head-to-head in a knockout-style 5-a-side football tournament, with 20-minute matches in a single elimination format. Each team will feature celebrity captains and special guest players, bringing star power to every goal. Champions will walk away with trophies, exclusive prizes, and serious bragging rights.
The action also hits the courts with the First Touch Padel Tournament, embracing one of the world’s fastest-growing sports. Expect social padel games, influencer challenges, and hands-on fan demos where spectators can join the fun.
The Fest: Beats, Eats & Vibes
As the sun dips, the field transforms into a high-energy festival from 5 PM to 10 PM, featuring:
- Live DJs & Artist Performances – Including Ch’cco, Blxckie, Tkcreedlion, and Y’s own Club Y honourees Thee Buhle, Shakes & Les, DJ Zan-D, GGoldie, Samba, and Legendary Crisp.
