Thandiswa Mazwai to Headline The Soirée by Stella Artois: Wimbledon Edition
11 July @ 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
South Africa’s premier lifestyle event, The Soirée by Stella Artois: Wimbledon Edition, is set to return in spectacular fashion on 11 July 2026 at Johannesburg’s scenic James & Ethel Gray Park, bringing together a world-class blend of music, culture, fashion, and social connection.
Inspired by the timeless elegance of Wimbledon, the event transforms the iconic sporting tradition into a uniquely South African cultural celebration. Guests will be immersed in a sophisticated atmosphere inspired by Wimbledon’s signature white, purple, and green colour palette while enjoying exceptional live entertainment and curated lifestyle experiences.
Leading this year’s impressive lineup is legendary South African artist Thandiswa Mazwai, affectionately known as King Tha. Rising to prominence in the 1990s as the lead vocalist of pioneering kwaito group Bongo Maffin, Mazwai has become one of the country’s most influential cultural figures. Her fearless artistry, socially conscious storytelling, and genre-defining musical contributions have shaped South African music for more than two decades.
Joining her on stage will be acclaimed Afro-folk singer-songwriter Bongeziwe Mabandla, whose emotionally rich performances have earned international recognition. Audiences can also look forward to the chart-topping sounds of Shekhinah, celebrated for her platinum-selling blend of R&B and pop, as well as internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean artist Sha Sha, whose Amapiano-infused sound has captivated listeners across the globe.
“This event creates a space where audiences can truly connect with both the music and each other. It’s a special experience that celebrates presence, community, and live performance.”
says Bongeziwe Mabandla
Making her highly anticipated debut at The Soirée by Stella Artois is rising singer-songwriter Thando Zide, whose soulful vocals and jazz-inspired sound promise to bring fresh energy to the day’s programme. Additional performances from Nahledi, Lelowhatsgood, Lia Butler, and Akio will provide the soundtrack to an unforgettable day that transitions seamlessly from laid-back afternoon elegance to an energetic evening celebration.
Beyond the music, attendees can indulge in a carefully curated culinary journey featuring gourmet offerings such as bao buns, dim sum, seafood specialties from The Prawnery, and fan-favourite wings and ribs from The Wing Republic. Returning by popular demand is the acclaimed Food I Love You pairing experience, where gourmet bites are perfectly matched with Stella Artois.
The event experience extends throughout the park with interactive entertainment including table tennis tournaments, elegant picnic lounges, and immersive brand experiences such as The Perfect Serve, where guests can discover Stella Artois’ renowned five-step pouring ritual. Fashion also takes centre stage with Courtside Couture, encouraging attendees to embrace Wimbledon-inspired style through elegant interpretations of the iconic white, purple, and green colour palette.
Melanie Nicholson, Head of Brand for Stella Artois South Africa, says the event continues to focus on meaningful moments centred around culture, craftsmanship, and connection.
“This year’s Wimbledon Edition brings together some of Africa’s most influential artists and creators, offering guests an experience that celebrates creativity while encouraging them to savour moments that truly matter,”.
