Madam Evodia Mogase on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Returning to Reality TV & More
On 28 November 2025, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Africa premieres exclusively on Showmax, with episodes also airing on Mzansi Magic from 6 December 2025.
This highly anticipated season brings together some of the continent’s most iconic Housewives for the ultimate getaway — this time set against the colourful, electric backdrop of Brazil. Expect a fusion of glamour, sisterhood, adventure, luxury, and the signature drama fans adore.
Produced by GOAT, the African edition features an impressive all-star lineup:
- From The Real Housewives of Durban: Annie Mthembu, Angel Ndlela, Jojo Robinson
- From The Real Housewives of Johannesburg: Madam Evodia Mogase, Christall Kay
- From Nairobi: Dr Catherine Masitsa, Zena Nyambu
- From Nigeria: Princess Jecoco (Abuja) and Mariam Timmer (Lagos)
Among them is one of Africa’s most unforgettable OGs, Madam Evodia Mogase, returning to the spotlight after years away from reality television. We sat down with her to talk about her comeback, her growth, the dynamics among the cast, and what fans can expect from this new era.
Why She Returned to Reality TV — And Why Now
For Evodia, the timing felt right.
“I wanted an opportunity to reconnect with my viewers that I love so much and definitely travel to Brazil.

Why not now? There’s never a better time; some opportunities come at the right time.”
Her return is both a reunion with fans and a moment to meet fellow Housewives she has long admired.
Stepping Back in Front of the Cameras
Evodia describes filming again as both nostalgic and refreshing.
“It was absolutely wonderful and brought back some great memories. It felt like home. The team captured not just the glamour, but my resilience, my laughter — moments people hardly get to see.”
After years away from the franchise, she steps in with confidence, authenticity, and renewed purpose.
How Life Has Evolved Since Her RHOJ Debut
Reflecting on her journey, Evodia acknowledges both personal growth and public impact.
“As people we are constantly evolving. What I realised after the show was how I had inspired a lot of women from all walks of life. That came with a lot of popularity that comes with being on TV.”
Her influence continues to shape conversations around empowerment and authenticity.
Friendships & Surprises in Brazil
Though the schedule was packed, Evodia still found moments to connect with the cast.
“I was able to bond with the incredible ladies, but the time was limited. Our days were filled with shooting and activities. There wasn’t time for deeper friendships.”
Still, she hints that unexpected interactions — and tensions — are on the horizon.
On the Housewives Who Came After Her
As an original breakout star, her opinion carries weight.
“I truly believe the ladies are good in their own right; however, I see a lot of pretence and many acting instead of being who they really are.”
She emphasizes authenticity — a quality she believes the franchise needs more of.
Were the Ladies Real or Fake?
Evodia doesn’t hold back.
“I would say 70% of the ladies were too unrealistic, they were ganging up as one and I didn’t fully get to see the real them.”
Viewers can expect this tension to unfold on-screen.
Reuniting With Christall Kay
Fans of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg will be eager for this reunion.
“Christall and I have a lot of history. I urge everyone to watch because they will be surprised. A lot has changed over the years — don’t miss even one episode.”
Why People Should Watch
Evodia promises the season delivers everything Housewives fans crave:
“It’s entertaining. There’s laughter, drama, bonding, explosive moments and crying — all wrapped in fabulousness.
It’s women celebrating their differences and learning from each other.
And darling, when Madam travels, the world watches. Madam will never disappoint you!”
What Era Is Madam In Now?
This is Evodia’s evolution era.
“I am in a new fabulous era where I own my truth unapologetically. It’s not about luxury or drama — it’s about being authentic, creating impact, having influence and confidence.”
