Summer in Johannesburg officially got a golden-hour soundtrack on Thursday, 1 October, as Corona launched its 2026 Corona Sunsets Summer Tour at Ocaso in Rosebank.
With music, sunset energy and a room full of media and industry guests, the launch offered an early glimpse of what Corona has planned for a summer that is set to stretch beyond South Africa‘s borders.

And if the launch was anything to go by, this year’s tour is not simply about putting artists on a stage.
Muzi and Darque Set the Mood
The Johannesburg launch brought together two distinct sounds through live performances from Muzi and The Darque Experience with Kitchen Mess, while DJ Sabby handled hosting duties.

Muzi’s genre-bending approach and Darque’s deep, electronic soundscape gave guests an indication of the musical diversity that could define this year’s tour.
But the launch also teased a much bigger lineup.
The official Johannesburg tour reveals a collection of artists and experiences including Mi Casa, Muzi, 2wo Bunnies, Skelm, DJ Tira, MamThug, Lochive, The Darque Experience with Kitchen Mess and Privacii.

That mix is significant because it brings different corners of South Africa‘s contemporary music scene into one summer platform — from established names to artists shaping newer sounds.
Following the Sun
The official tour will visit seven destinations across South Africa and Botswana, beginning in Johannesburg on 24 October before travelling to Pretoria, Durban, Johannesburg again, Gaborone, Cape Town and Ballito.

For young South Africans, the appeal is increasingly about the experience surrounding the music: discovering new spaces, travelling with friends, experiencing different cities and creating moments worth remembering.
And that is where Corona’s summer proposition becomes interesting.
The stage might be where the music starts, but the bigger story is everything happening around it.
