South African producer and sonic trailblazer Dlala Thukzin delivers MAYVIS, an album where Afro-house meets Afro-tech in a body-moving yet soul-stirring journey. Known for balancing club-ready rhythms with emotional depth, Thukzin sharpens that duality here, crafting a project that is as reflective as it is powerful.
MAYVIS is anchored in collaboration, featuring a rich lineup including Funky Qla, Sykes, Zee Nxumalo, Nkosazana Daughter, GoldMax, Dankie Boi and more. From the meditative pull of “Mayvis (Intro)” to the percussive drive of “Drums” and the emotive warmth of “Ubuhle”, the album flows with intention—each track contributing to a cohesive, immersive narrative.
At its core, MAYVIS is a tribute. Naming the album after the woman who shaped his world, Dlala Thukzin honors lessons of resilience, gentleness, patience, and courage. As he shares, this project is more than music—it’s legacy. While vocalists lend their voices, the spirit behind the melodies belongs to her. MAYVIS stands as both a personal thank you and a timeless offering to listeners who find strength and tenderness living side by side on the dancefloor.
