Top Guns: The Next Generation – National Geographic’s High-Octane Docuseries
National Geographic is set to launch an adrenaline-fuelled new docuseries, Top Guns: The Next Generation, giving viewers an unprecedented look inside the U.S. Navy’s most elite aviation program. The six-part series premieres on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at 20:30 CAT on National Geographic (DStv 181, StarTimes 220) across Africa.

The Ultimate Test of Nerve and Skill
The series follows Navy and Marine Corps student pilots in the final, most unforgiving stage of strike fighter training. Over six intense months, they face aerial bombing drills, nail-biting dogfights, and nerve-racking aircraft carrier landings—all under the watchful eyes of seasoned instructors. With every mission carrying make-or-break consequences, only the best will graduate with coveted wings of gold.

Beyond the Cockpit
While the aerial combat thrills take center stage, the show also dives into the personal lives of these ambitious aviators. Viewers will witness emotional family moments, sacrifices made for service, and the deep personal drive behind their pursuit of becoming top fighter pilots.

Cinematic Aerial Action
Outfitted with in-cockpit cameras and produced by some of the creative talent behind Top Gun: Maverick, the series captures cinematic, pulse-racing sequences that bring audiences as close as possible to the cockpit experience.
