King Ben & Lazarusman Explore Poetic Resilience on the Harder Still EP
Harder Still, the powerful new EP from King Ben and Lazarusman—featuring remixes by Hauy and Amadori—is a masterclass in emotive storytelling and sonic transcendence. Released via Sounds of Khemit on 11 April, the four-track project speaks to the beauty that emerges from pain, connection, and creative vulnerability.

At the heart of the EP is Lazarusman, the Johannesburg-born spoken-word artist who’s built a global reputation for lending gravity and soul to underground electronic music. His voice is unmistakable—resonant, thoughtful, and transformative.
“The work lately has become more interesting the more facets of myself I put into it. Turning pain into art is a blessing.”

Partnering from different corners of the world—South Africa and Switzerland—King Ben and Lazarusman transformed a poetic collaboration into a full EP.
“We instantly felt a strong connection—not just musically, but personally,”.
says King Ben
Known for his melodic and emotionally layered productions, King Ben creates the perfect landscape for Lazarusman’s introspection to bloom.
The EP opens with “Harder Still,” a meditative yet danceable piece that confronts personal struggle with raw honesty. “Strength” follows, a track that embodies inner fortitude through poetic lyrics and deep, driving beats.

Bringing a broader sonic palette, Hauy—a Canadian producer affiliated with All Day I Dream—offers a remix of “Harder Still” infused with atmospheric serenity. Amadori, emerging from Barcelona’s underground scene, reimagines “Strength” with cinematic tension and hypnotic rhythm.
Together, these tracks form more than just a club-ready EP—they offer a spiritual and emotional soundtrack to resilience.
“The most remarkable thing is overcoming pain and the byproduct of that being strength… strength in things, strength in intangible things.”
As Lazarusman puts it,
Whether heard through headphones or on the dancefloor, Harder Still is a moving reminder of how music, poetry, and human connection can transcend distance and difficulty—uniting us in shared experience and expression.
