Rita Satch – Breathe / Joyride
Rita Satch announces her debut album – ‘Meet Me in the Garden’ (to be released on 14 February 2025 on Silk Throne Records) with singles ‘Breathe’ and ‘Joyride’.
Produced by Felix Bloxsom (Genesis Owusu, SIA) and mixed by 3-time Grammy Award winning engineer Ben Kane (D’Angelo, Emily King), this 9-track offering highlights Satch’s masterful songwriting, weaving RnB, Soul, and enchanting orchestral arrangements into a rich, immersive soundscape that delivers a deeply evocative listening experience. Following acclaimed collaborations with musical luminaries like Gary Bartz, Barney McAll, and Lance Ferguson, Rita Satch is now stepping into her own as a solo artist. Meet Me in the Garden marks a new chapter in her artistry, elevating her sound and vision to bold new heights.

The first single, ‘Breathe’ (out 13th November), features Melbourne/Naarm heavyweights Paul Bender (Hiatus Kaiyote), Daniel Mougerman (The Bamboos), Ash Griffin (The Vaudeville Smash) and Javier Fredes. The track simmers with Satch’s husky, sensual tone, her voice cradled by a rhythm section that pulses like a heartbeat. Hypnotic synths and delicate guitar licks build tension, leading to a powerful release in the climactic bridge, where Satch chants, “Oh I, feel so alive,” like a flower unfurling its petals. This visual metaphor is brought to life in the accompanying visualizer, where flowers open in sync with the song’s crescendo, mirroring the awakening of strength and life force.
“This song flowed out of me after meditating on the mantra ‘The most precious and abundant cost least’. I wanted to remind people that the breath—the essence of life itself—is given freely, yet holds infinite value. When we strip away the noise, we rediscover a quiet beauty, where the simple becomes sacred. In a time when anxiety and stress are everywhere and the headlines are overwhelming, the ability to quiet the mind and return to the calm within becomes not just essential, but a lifeline to the soul.”
Reflecting on the first single, “Breathe”, Satch shares,
“You’ll find your inner peace if you just…breathe”
Written by Satch and longtime collaborator Daniel Mougerman (The Bamboos), second single ‘Joyride’ (out 12th December) takes listeners on a journey of freedom and release, with Satch describing it as a fun, party track celebrating escapism and being fully present. Her smooth vocals glide over rolling beats, sun-soaked melodies and funky clavinet, creating the perfect soundtrack for moments of liberation: “Under the moon and the stars in the sky / Be in the moment just open your eyes.” As ‘Meet Me in the Garden’ approaches, Joyride offers a tantalising glimpse into Rita Satch’s sound, promising an album that mixes escapism, timeless grooves, and cosmic wonder.

2025 marks a bold new chapter for Rita Satch with the release of her highly anticipated debut album. Backed by her electrifying five-piece band and enriched by lush, cinematic arrangements—including a 12-piece string orchestra—the album promises to captivate with its blend of mystical, cosmic wonder. Born in Uzbekistan and raised in Melbourne/Naarm, Satch blends soul, jazz, and orchestral textures into genre-defying soundscapes that transport listeners into otherworldly realms. Her emotionally rich voice has captivated audiences at Glastonbury and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, earning her recognition as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging talents. A 2020 National Jazz Awards finalist, Satch’s versatility has led to collaborations with innovative artists like ARIA-nominated Barney McAll on ‘Precious Energy’ and Tamil Rogeon on ‘Steady Weather’ and ‘Son of Nyx’.
