Top celebrities Zozibini Tunzi, Lloyiso, Lasizwe, Mihlali Ndamase, Unathi Nkayi, J.R. and more attended Stella Artois’ Let’s Do Dinner event in Johannesburg

Actors and media personalities, Nomzamo Mbatha and Kat Sinivasan, hosted South Africa’s most fascinating dinner event, titled “Let’s Do Dinner”, in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening to highlight and inspire the power of human connection around the table.

“If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?” was the central theme of the event, presented by Stella Artois, that brought together noteworthy personalities, from actors to book authors, musicians, artists, and business titans. Amongst these were Zozibini Tunzi, Lloyiso, Lasizwe, Mihlali Ndamase, Unathi Nkayi, Chef Benny Masekwameng, Melanie Bala, Slikour, Khaya Dlanga, Kwenzo Ngcobo, Holly Ray, Mzukisi Mbane and many more.

With a “Stylishly Stella” dress code, guests added a touch of sophistication and glamour to the evening, which kicked off with electronic string quartet, The Muses, as well as and a spell-binding Afro-fusion performance by renowned ballerina & choreographer, Kitty Phetla, and DJ Kenzhero & Trio with his trademark, Afro-jazz-electronica sounds.

Later in the evening, SA musician and producer, JR (aka Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior), presented a personal set, engaging the audience with compelling stories behind his greatest hits, told through song. Singer-songwriter, Shekinah – supported by a guitarist, drummer, and pianist behind a white baby grand – then performed an intimate, unplugged selection from her repertoire, while ‘The Mentalist’, Brendon Peel, had guests talking as he pushed the boundaries of illusion.

Dinner, meanwhile, was created and prepared by internationally renowned South African celebrity chef, Chef Reuben Riffel, restaurateur founder of famed Reuben‘s Restaurant & Bar in Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands. Included on the menu were an Ash Crusted Braised Beef Brisket on a canvas of herb and vegetable essence as well as a show-stopper Chocolate Crème Brûlée dessert with a cherry roasted coffee veil.
“For an artist to have access to the kind of platform where you can engage on a human level and explain your creative process while exploring what you love most is a rare privilege. Through my music I try to bring people together, so this was a night which was truly meaningful,”
said J.R.

“It was a transformative evening, from the entertainment to the food and stage engagements. Last night, the power of human connection was made very real. It’s something we tend to forget in our daily rush, so finding time to connect is everything Stella Artois stands for. Connection empowers us all.”

The Johannesburg event followed the initial Let’s Do Dinner Event in New York City last month, which was hosted by Ludacris & Zoe Saldana and was attended by, amongst others, actors Matt Damon, Tika Sumpter, Martha Stewart, Ryan Tedder, and Jeremy Allen White as well as Nomzamo Mbatha.
“It was so wonderful to be home and to be able to have hosted this event with Kat. It was very personal to me because human connection and communication is something which the world really needs now – that and love,”.
said Nomzamo Mbatha, who flew back from Los Angeles to co-host the event
