Sakzo Doosum is a South African Rapper, Producer and Music Engineer from the small town of Katlehong located in the East of greater Johannesburg. Growing up being exposed to different genres of music was definitely a big part of why he became a musician but ultimately it was his need to tell his own stories and the stories of his friends and neighborhood that eventually pushed him to becoming a musician. While being an avid listener of music from a wide range of artists and genres, he credits Skwatta Kamp (especially Flabba), HHP, Pro and Teargas as major influences on his musical sound and style. His musical journey began in 2007 at the age of 16 when he started learning how to make beats and then evolved to writing his own songs and recording himself.

In 2008 he started a group with his friends called YSS which he later left in 2014 to focus on his solo career and personal growth as an artist.

The 6 years he spent in the group taught him a lot about the music industry especially as an upcoming artist and also exposed him to good platforms and performances on stage with some prominent names in the music and entertainment industry such as Black coffee, Spikiri, Dj Fresh, Vinny da Vinci, Oskido, Vetkuk & Mahoota, Christos, Spectacula & Naves, Red Button, Sean Pages, Proverb, L-tido, Warras, Kwesta, Reason, Blacklez etc.

In April 2020 Sakzo released his debut EP titled Up For It! The EP shows off his unique style of rapping combining witty rhymes laced with a hint of rapper braggadocio with catchy melodies while delivering a clear message: He’s music is hot and the streets will feel the heat.

The release of his single Bazozwa has seen Sakzo Doosum take to new heights and venues ranging from the Standard Bank sponsored end of the year party at Endaweni Night Club the big stage of the Umshubelo Music Fetival, to the New Year Crossover event at Mosiliki Park in Katlehong. He has also started the new year on a high note, releasing the music video to the growing single.
