SETH SHEZI CURATES A CULINARY JOURNEY FOR VEUVE CLICQUOT’S EMOTIONS OF THE SUN EXHIBITION IN CAPE TOWN
Throughout December, Veuve Clicquot’s Emotions of the Sun Exhibition brings a celebration of light, warmth and optimism to Youngblood Gallery in Cape Town. Created in collaboration with the iconic Magnum Photos agency, the global exhibition—having travelled from Milan to New York—invites visitors to experience the Sun not just as a celestial body, but as an emotion. Complementing this immersive visual journey is the Sun on Your Plate Café, a culinary experience curated by Cape Town creative Seth Shezi.
The exhibition features 40 striking photographs by eight renowned Magnum photographers, each interpreting the Sun as a feeling rather than a form. This radiant philosophy carries seamlessly into the café, where Shezi transforms light, colour and texture into flavour. His menu mirrors the exhibition’s solar energy, placing seasonal ingredients, luminous hues and playful textures at the heart of every dish.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label weaves throughout the experience as the perfect pairing. With lively citrus and white fruit notes, complemented by subtle brioche undertones, the champagne enhances the menu’s fresh, sun-kissed flavours.

Signature offerings include truffle skinny fries with saffron aioli, goat’s cheese on yellow beetroot crisps drizzled with wild honey, and salmon sashimi served on a turmeric blini.
