Skyjack Live in Melville: Two Nights Only at chiesa di PAZZO LUPi
World-class jazz meets warm, unpretentious dining this December as Melville prepares for a standout cultural weekend. Internationally acclaimed jazz ensemble Skyjack returns to South Africa for two intimate, exclusive performances at chiesa di PAZZO LUPi on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December 2025.
Fresh off a successful European tour, Skyjack brings its unmistakable, cross-continental sound to one of Johannesburg’s most atmospheric reinvented church venues. The quintet unites three major South African jazz voices—Shane Cooper, Kyle Shepherd and Jonno Sweetman—with Swiss virtuosos Marc Stucki and Andreas Tschopp, creating a sound that is adventurous, soulful, and transportive.
Their Melville performances mark the opening weekend of their national tour, promising a powerful musical journey featuring new material from their 2024 album Light Cycle, as well as earlier audience favourites. For fans of contemporary jazz and genre-bending improvisation, these shows offer a rare opportunity to experience the group up close.
Hosting Skyjack’s exclusive Melville dates, chiesa di PAZZO LUPi is rapidly becoming one of Johannesburg’s most intriguing cultural spaces. The venue blends multidimensional wellness elements, an airy outdoor courtyard, and even pomegranate trees with the warmth of local music and Italian-inspired comfort food. Its intimate scale brings audiences closer to the performers, allowing each note to resonate deeply.

Guests can enjoy the venue’s signature piadine—delicate Italian flatbreads filled with fresh, flavourful ingredients—along with a selection of simple, delicious dishes. Secure, free adjacent parking makes the evening even more seamless. And for those eager to continue the night, Melville’s iconic cafés and after-dark hideaways are just a short stroll away.
Doors open at 6:00pm, with the show starting at 7:30pm.
