Where legacy meets the field, the Nedbank International Polo is set to make a highly anticipated return to the prestigious Inanda Club on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Renowned as South Africa’s premier international polo showcase, the event promises a thrilling clash as the national team hosts the United States of America in a match steeped in history, prestige, and sporting excellence.
A standout highlight on South Africa’s sporting and social calendar, the Nedbank International Polo blends elite competition with refined elegance. The event has long been a symbol of heritage and high performance, attracting distinguished guests, business leaders, and polo enthusiasts for an experience that transcends sport.
This year’s fixture carries added significance as it marks the seventh tour of the U.S. team to South Africa, with a rivalry dating back to 1974. Their most recent visit in 2014 left the competition evenly poised, with the Americans securing three wins out of their last six encounters on South African soil. With the historical tally perfectly balanced, the 2026 match serves as a long-awaited decider between the two proud polo nations.
Speaking ahead of the event, Khensani Nobanda, Chief Marketing Officer at Nedbank, emphasised the significance of the occasion, noting that the Nedbank International Polo reflects the brand’s commitment to excellence, legacy, and meaningful connections. The event continues to provide a platform that celebrates both sporting achievement and the power of shared experiences.
Guy Slater, President of the South African Polo Association, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of hosting the U.S. team once again. He acknowledged the rich legacy of the United States Polo Association, one of the world’s oldest polo organisations established in 1890, and expressed anticipation for a fiercely contested match on home turf.
Beyond the on-field rivalry, the Nedbank International Polo is synonymous with luxury, hospitality, and timeless style. Guests can expect an afternoon of world-class polo complemented by an atmosphere of sophistication and social prestige, making it one of the most exclusive events in the country.
The 2026 edition is proudly supported by leading partners including American Express, Glenfiddich, U.S. Polo Assn., Stella Artois, EQUUS, and the Inanda Club. Their continued collaboration ensures the event maintains its reputation for excellence and prestige.
As legacy once again meets the field, the Nedbank International Polo 2026 is set to deliver an unforgettable showcase of international talent, reaffirming its place as one of South Africa’s most prestigious and eagerly awaited sporting occasions.
